I kind of liked DK2...then again, I really like reading American Hardcore: A Tribal History (over and over again.) I can't really say DK2 was a rehash, so much as a re-envisioning of the character that was brought forth in The Dark Knight Returns. I'd have to say that those two books = Kingdom Come (sorry everybody, I'm a big Marvel fan, that occasionally flirts with DC titles.)
Whatever...I agree with Skywarp on this one. The review was a bit harsh, but the rest of it was, IMO, right on the money.
Oh yeah, I like comics.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, this is how we show emotion on the inttarwebss.
Dark Knight 2 brings to light what we would do if superheroes actually existed, albeit in an exaggerated sense: We'd exploit the hell out of 'em. We'd bring them down to our level with endorsement deals and TV appearances. We'd bury their heroic deeds in bureaucratic red tape. We'd hold them hostage using our own lives as the ransom. We'd run them ragged, tire them out with our unceasing pleas to save us from our own stupidity. DKSA is more than a book about superheroes. It is about the #### that humans put superheroes through, and how they will not take it anymore.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
Wow. I can't believe they gave Mr. Kara a post on the front page...
Great stuff, here, Darkcrisis. Great idea, and a pretty good execution. Who knew I'd have friends in high places so soon?...
I'm looking forward to the next one, and especially looking forward to the X-Men list (which will be huge) and your Supes family list (which will have everyone's favorite she-kryptonian).
