well next week my lcoal store is throwing an unrestricted/open universe 500 point cat fight tourney and im having trouble deciding on a team. i was thinking of using KC wonder woman and some TK abuse, or maybe so low cost hitters like polaris and some major con artist abuse. wanted to get some outside opinions, im a relatively new player and have almost nothing from before ultimates, with most of my clix being from mutant mayham.

You've got enough fliers and with the JLA Team Ability, mobility should not be a problem. You've DEFINITELY got some bricks in Maxima and Wonder Woman. And you've got a decent Ranged Attack with Huntress. Attach Haymaker to whom you like...
V Magick is really good. For 47 points, she's got BCF, RCE, and some other stuff. Team her with Invisible Girl to keep her safe. Also, put Trick Shot on her. Throw in V Jean Grey for TK and Support. Next, get an outwitter like Catwoman or Abbey Chase. Throw in a few Con Artists and maybe some prob control. Finally, add a combatant like Big Barda, Wonder Woman, or She-Hulk. If retired figures are legal, take that advise.
well my team didnt do too well. i realized when i got there i was way nder poitns. i uped vertigo to her vet and threw in martha kent for an even 500. i got beat pretty badly my first round he took out polaris leaving me with no way to throw wonder woman around. he had a major range team, some nebula abuse, and way too many outwiters for me to handle. my medic got tied up and i was screwed. my second round i got full victory points so i was fairly happy about that. in my third round i was palying some one fairly ahead of me in points, he took out my wonder woman but i was able to still give him a run for his money with vertigo incapascitating all of his good pieces and good ole dagger psychic blasting through his rampant invurnerability. some one else was doing really well int he tourney with three wins and pretty good wipe outs, i didnt stand a chance of even getting second place while my opponent had a run for first, so i forfeitid to him. the prizes were a couple of crappy LEs and some indy clix boosters, i ended up getting one and pulling hectate, which the judge bought off me for 10$ all in all id say it was a pretty decent tourney.

I'm glad you had an alright time. Please keep in mind that the WizKids Approved Play Rules state, in part:
Quote
5.6 Withdrawing and Conceding
A player who withdraws from or concedes a battle is dropped from the tournament. A player who refuses to play in a battle is presumed to withdraw and is dropped from the tournament. If a player withdraws before the current round is ended, the round is scored as a loss for the withdrawing player and a win for his or her opponent, who receives victory points and/or conditions in accordance with the game-specific
tournament rules.
If you concede the game, you are removing yourself from consideration for prize support. I understand that your Venue may not be playing it like that, but that only means that they are in violation of WizKids policy.
Beyond that rules related aspect, there is some debate over whether conceding to your opponent is really sportsmanlike or not. Yes, by giving him the win with full points, he may have won the tournament. But he didn't really beat you for full points, whereas that other guy who already skunked three opponents probably did legitimately beat them in that way. Is being nice to your opponent by giving him all your points really fair to the other guy who earned his Victory Points through battling for them?

well actualy id be lying if i said it was alla bout being nice. the week before that i lost the first two matches but i completely cleaned house with my sentinel the third match including capturing magneto as zorn, but the guy that was winning this tourney (and still won despite my concesion) was palying someone that gave him full vitory points and he beat me out. anyways i didnt jsut give up i let him kill my people nice and easy because i was most likely going to loose anyway and a game with him was a nice contrast to the mean guy i played in my first round who was also in the running. i know it isnt quite right but i was in a good mood and all.
oh and what the judge doesnt know cant hurt him.

spy - Please don't think that I consider you a bad or worthless person because of this. A man is definitely more than one action they've taken. I am by no means perfect myself. I was just pointing out my opinion on this matter here.
No hard feelings, I hope. I think that if you and I faced off in a game, or you participated in one of my tournaments, there wouldn't be any problems.
