In the June release of the Heroclix rules, they use Energy Explosion example with Enhancement. They have three adjacent targets:
ABC
Attacker has two arrows for ranged attack. One EE at 'A' and one at 'C'. With Enhancement it comes to two damage per hit. A and C each get hit once for two damage. But B is in middle and gets hit for (2x2) four damage.
1st Q) Does B take 2 hits of two damage each, or one big hit of four damage? I can go either way on this one - technically they're two separate attacks, but it's all happening during one attack phase.
2nd Q) If you have three attacks, anything stopping you from hitting each guy and thus doing four damage to A and C, and six damage to B?

As a note, no changes where made in that FAQ to that section. This is how it has been for a while.

B is dealt 4 clicks of damage at one time. (The EE is all from the same attack. It was a single attack with a single die roll. There are NOT two attacks.)

That is how it would work if you targeted and successfully hit A, B, and C.
You're on a roll! Last question. What about ICWO? If I attack with EE and have ICWO and decide to use it to bump up damage value, does it work like Enhancement and SHIELD, or does ICWO happen before the Energy Explosion damage gets reduced to 1 and thus get negated?
I think that should wrap it up! Thanks Heroclix 1234!

ICwO doesn't work like Enhancement or SHIELD. It would happen before the attack and would, therefore, be reduced to 1.

Thanks again! Hair10 - he's everywhere YOU want to be!
I was beginning to wonder about the timing of ICWO - if it had been other way I was wondering what was point of even including Enhancement characters in team. But issue is now resolved - thanks!

The ruling on ICwO is that the bonus is granted immediately when you declare an action. This allows you to declare a combat action and do things like boost your range, attack, or damage. If it wasn't done immediately, then the only thing the +1 from ICwO would be good for is boosting your defense (otherwise any other action would be resolved before the +1 kicked in). Also, since it happens immediately upon declaration of the action, the bonus "complies" with the normal rules for things like EE and PW.
