I don't see why not, but I always like to verify rules I've never actually seen in play, and I have a feeling I'll be seeing this happen with the new objects.
A character with both Running Shot and Super Strength (such as Rookie FF Yellowjacket) on the same click. Can that character pick up an object during the move portion of a Running Shot (like the Fuel Tank) and then throw it as the Attack Action at the end of the Running Shot?
You can pick up an object whenever a fig moves from a movement or power action. Throwing the object is a ranged combat action. A running shot is a power action that grants you a ranged combat action at the end of 1/2 the fig's move score. Looks legit to me.
But not with HSS, just Running Shot. This is because, as you pointed out in your post antedoX, throwing an object is a ranged combat action. HSS option 1 only grants a close or ranged combat attack.

i'm just gonna have some fun TKing a fuel tank out near any version of yellowjacket and using running shot to toss it into the middle of a group of my suprised foes
