lockjaw is carring joker. lockjaw makes his hss lite attack on thor. rolls x6's. hits thor and knockback.
question: can the joker now be placed where thor was standing prior to knockback?
thanks,
AUKOS
Since the carried character is not placed back on the map until the movement is completed, and Knockback occurs during the attack (which is, itself, completed during the movement), yes.
From the Icons rule book (page 20, under 'Knockback'):
If a player rolls doubles on the dice in a successful attack roll (except for two 1s, which is never successful), the target suffers knockback during the attack, after any damage taken from the attack is applied. Knockback represents a character being thrown backward by the force of an attack. Certain powers and team abilities might require a character to suffer knockback or prevent a character from suffering knockback. Check for those powers and team abilities before applying damage from the attack.
thanks. there was a little discussion during the may qualifier about this event. i had dropped joker where thor was and explained the "off the map" concept during the transporter attack and it was not well recieved. of course thor had two tokens on him and he was about to be poisoned didn't help the understanding process.

Funny how that works
I've always had an easier time explaining favorable rulings...
