I know if my opponent WC's Superman enemy, outwits my HSS, then on my turn I attempt a ranged combat attack and he declares Batman Ability, I get my HSS back because they broke the Superman enemy chain.
My question is, what other scenarios exist like this? Where you can't declare 2 abilities at once?
I imagine if you declare Batman to negate a ranged attack you can still declare Alt FF because BA stopped any action from occurring...but if you declare Batman or Alt-FF, can you then not declare Mystics after the fact?
Same for borrowing Defenders?
Better weay to ask is, if I declare intent to attack, and he declares a Team ability, at what point is he locked into that TA?
I imagine any except Batman, since that stops the attack/action from even occuring.
Thanks!

Wonderful thing, the rule book...
From the Danger Room rule book (page 14 and 15):
Wild cards may use only one team ability per action. During your turn, you must declare any change in the team ability used by a wild card when you declare an action. During an opponent’s turn, you must declare any change in the team ability used by your wild cards after your opponent declares an action and before the action begins—for example, after an action is declared but before an opposing character moves or attacks.
A wild card retains the team ability it last used until it uses another team ability, or until the end of an action in which the character whose team ability the wild card is using is knocked out or otherwise removed from the game.
If a team ability used by a wild card after the declaration of an action makes the declared action impossible to perform—for example, if a line of fire for an opponent’s ranged combat attack can no longer be drawn to the wild card due to the team ability now used by the wild card—treat the action as though it was not given and choose a different action instead. The wild card, however, must continue to use that ability even when a new action is declared.
The last paragraph, in particular, has what you are looking for.
Does a wildcard team member have the ability to use different team ablities on every action taken or just when that character preforms a action?
Again, from the Danger Room rule book (page 14):
Wild cards may use only one team ability per action. During your turn, you must declare any change in the team ability used by a wild card when you declare an action. During an opponent’s turn, you must declare any change in the team ability used by your wild cards after your opponent declares an action and before the action begins—for example, after an action is declared but before an opposing character moves or attacks.
See all that stuff about "per action", "during your turn", and "during your opponent's turn"? You can change the TA during any action. You don't have to change, if you don't want to, but you can.
To sum it up: once he declares a team ability 'in response' to something, he's stuck with it. If calls Batman so you can't shoot his guy, he can't switch to Defenders if you decide to use Energy Explosion on the guy next to him. He can, however, switch to Defenders if you chose to shoot him again with a different guy. Also note that if he calls Batman TA, you can still pick a different target and attack as normal. A wildcard can never be changed 'in response' to cheat another player out of taking their actions.
This means that Wildcards won't usually trigger the standard FF ability, since they're probably something else when you kill them.
