I love the Punch-Out reference. Why they used King Hippo instead of Glass Joe for Captain N: Game-Master, I'll never know.
I passed up Arthur here in favor of a Dr. Hank Pym this last weekend, mostly due to the Dutster's review of him. Ant-Man with support? I couldn't resist!
This version of Drax just isn't functionally different enough for me, I guess. Plus, he's Drax. Though the realtor phrases do make him infinitely more appealing. Maybe I'll get 'im this weekend!
"Ultimately, however, as neither figure seems clearly superior to the other, Exp Drax is clearly superior to both the Rookie and Limited Edition figures."

However, there are a couple of puzzlers on Arthur Douglas’ dial as well. First is the Quake. Not that Quake is a bad power, but when the other choice is pummeling someone into next week with Close Combat Expert, I doubt that Quake will ever really get used. The overlapping Willpower makes the CCE even more dangerous, as he gets to swing away for two turns in a row without taking pushing damage. Worse, however, is the Incapacitate coupled with Battle Fury. Few powers are less fun than Incap with no range. Even Force Blast appears scintillating by comparison.
The way I see it, the Quake is a way to get multiple folks of his back after he's already gone in swinging...the lower natural damage is obviously a points-concession to the quake power.
I almost never like to see Incap anywhere on a dial...normally it would be spared my disgust on a multi-target flier, but that Battle Fury overlap is so painful!
The starting dial is extremly "desk-worthy"...he's a flier with Charge and Superstrength...use the desk to boost defense, especially if you know how much damage you may take...and then followup with a charge to grab another object.
his best click with a 10 attack, 16 Invulnerable defense and three (3) damage with Charge. That’s a lot to get excited about on a 110 point figure.
That is simply not true at all. I don't care if a 110 point figure opens with that exact click for the first four slots of his dial, I would never find that worth using. Theres so many better figures for 110 points. Especially since it has to push to get there, as there is so little change of him getting pinged for one. Or we could always just play the game Drax: Mystic Hunter, but it still means he usually will end up pushed, and thus a target with 16 defense ( more with shellhead admittedly, but why pump even more points into an already inferior figure? ) The game is dominated by range and high stats, of which Drax specializes in neither. I demand MUCH more out of a close combat brick than what Drax here offers to consider playing him. Its one thing to have to justify an LE vs its REV counterparts, but sometimes neither figure is really all that good. Sadly thats Drax =( I'll use him in fun games, but wouldn't take him near a tournament ever.

My LE Drax has perplex on his 2nd to last click, instead of Battle Fury, even though WizKids has it as BF, and so does ol_Dut.
How much better would that click be, if it is perplex?!
On mine, on his second to last click, the square is Orange and the damage value is white. On his last, it's Orange and black the way it should be. I think that it's that white number that may be throwing things off. Perplex would be nicer, but it looks like Battle Fury to me.
Another terrific review!
I was really looking forward to this figure, even though it wasn't MAJORLY different from the Rookie. It's a useful LE that doesn't steal thunder from the REV, but different enough to make things interesting, and be a fun departure (I absolutely LOVE Seth's habit of doing that). I can't wait to use this piece sometime soon, and boy howdy, you'd better believe I'll be sportin' me some of that real estate smack talk (spackle talk?)!
Shellhead is a great idea, and his dial IS really built for pushing. I don't generally play all THAT aggro, so this LE might offer me (and my opponents) a little deviation from the norm...
Archive updated!
P.S. - And, yeah - that end of dial Battle Fury is a real heartbreak. I went from being excited about the possibility of a double target Incap (with decent attack value for a 129 point figure that has obviously taken a bunch of damage), to utter despair (okay, that's a bit of an overstatement) in... well... not very much time.
It is pretty neat to think of him not having BF on those last clicks, but Duplex instead. PERplex! I mean PERplex! (Sorry, couldn't resist)
Its been days since I read this review, and I swear that every day I think about those top 5 real estate jokes and I laugh. My fiance must think I'm having some kind of fits at this point. Thanks, Dut, for keeping me entertained and making my loved ones think I'm strange. Keep the good reviews coming!
heh, back when I was playing City of Heroes, I had a character called the Realtress who would spout out realtor catchphrases as her battlecries:
"Your mind is an open floorplan!" (she was a pyschic defender)
"You don't have much curb appeal, mister!"
"I have an adorable little 1/1 with barred windows all picked out for you!"
My LE Drax has perplex on his 2nd to last click, instead of Battle Fury, even though WizKids has it as BF, and so does ol_Dut.

Mine is the same, Different colour (orange to brown), and one has a black number and one white. So they are different powers, which is the misprint ?
< edit to add> looks like alot of people beat me to it < end edit>
Will be keeping this one, Finally had my first torney win, so he has sold the deed to my heart
