I played in a match last night where I had Entangle on Animal Master, and my opponent tried to smack me in the middle of an HSS attack with Jay Garrick (HT U Flash) - only I made the Entangle roll.
At what point should I make my entangle roll :before he even moves, or after he moves up adjacent to attack? If I am successful in making the entangle roll, does he still get an action token (power action for activating HSS?
Would he not move from his starting position or would he be forced to stop adjacent to me but not get any tokens (as per the wording on the entangle card)?
(We basically decided that he couldn't attack me, and never left his starting spot, but this almost seems...wrong).
Thanks!

From the latest FAQ (p. 8): "Entangle Q: If a character uses Charge, Hypersonic Speed, or the transporter move and attack option to move adjacent to an opposing character for a close combat attack and that character makes the roll with Entangle, what happens to the attacking character?
A: Characters using Charge would simply end their movement in the square where they stopped. Characters using Hypersonic Speed or the transporter move and attack option would be able to continue their movement if they had any left. In either case, the character is not given an action token and cannot perform any other actions that turn."
entangle says when they're making a close combat attack. So the HSS'er would run up, you'd roll for entangle, and if you get it, then he's stuck there. Doesn't take an action token, but he can't do anything else.
