Alright....tired of this coming up. Ive read the FAQs and I just dont see it one way or the other.
On the card that Meteorite comes on its says CONTINUAL.....as in Dumpster never destroyed when used? People are playing it like this and it seems unbelievably broken.
I read the 3D Objects FAQ.....its says all of them are now CONTINUAL...for simplicities sake?
Also, 3D objects are unique as in only one Soda Machine per player right? Or can one load 3 on a map if they pull 3 heavies?
**I just read what CONTINUAL means and Ill have to show it to the judge**
So that known, could a fig with Super Strength carry say the Aerial Baffler and thus make carrying off a peice within its baffle range impossible?
CONTINUAL--the special ability of a special object withi this keyword is not ignored while it is being carried or moved (XMEN DR Complete Rules Glossary)
but from the Collateral Damage Booklet it says red and yellow special objects return to normal Light or Heavy for effect when carried.
You found it then? K, I was just about to tell you that it was in the glossary, but it looks like you edited your post.
I share in your frustration though. I hate when people try to warp the rules without actually ever having read the rule in question. This frustration presents itself most often when people assume that they know what the word Continual means.
All 3-d objects are now continual? Blue objects can't be carried, but they can be moved right?
I've gotta say that this confuses me. Continual makes sense for things like a Meteorite. But what about the Aerial Baffler? Can you do a drive by Earthbound-a-thon? Like your opponent's entire force is spread out and is soaring. Can Killer Shrike move around and give them all Earthbound at different times during the move, dealing them all 1 damage?
Also to use the Laser Turret you've gotta occupy it's square. If it's being carrired it doesn't have a square. So in what way is the Laser Turret continual?
Edit: it looks like you share in my confusion too.
The Fuel Tank has also been errata'd to be continual.
Yup. My bad. It was about 3:30am or something when I posted that. It just occured to me and I was coming back on to fix it. Oh well, thanks for the catch.
Continual means that if someone picks it up then the object keeps its ability not that it stays in play and can be used over and over. Objects without continual become regular light or heavy objects when picked up. Aeriel Baffler is not continual so it does not keep its ability when picked up so you can't run around giving figures earthbound.
Also don't forget that even though the heavy and light special objects are continual-not all of them have the gear symbol that designates it's continual printed on it.
I think a couple even have the wrong #'s printed on them such as 001, 002 etc.
Anyone remember when they were just light and heavy?
I miss the simple days when the rulebook was actually bigger than the FAQ
I know what you mean.
It's kinda sad when I see a little kid buy a DC Hypertime starter with their allowance after watching us play, and then having to tell them that the rulebook is basically worthless because of all the Erratas & rule changes.

They are trying to improve a game that was too simplistic. They are taking a game that was like pokemon and are changing it into a flagship game like Magic. They just keep making the game better by upping the complexity and variety.
