Can you move a grounded non leap climb non phaser from one rooftop to the other rooftop on the CoG Map without the use of a flier? It seems that you still are on elevated terrain and would have to use normal movement methods to get down other than jump off the roof.
If I make you a trade offer, even if you think it's ridiculous, please at least respond with a kind and simple "Thanks but no thanks."
There is no elevated terrain on that map. Any character moves normally from "rooftop to rooftop". The special effect of open air terrain happens when a turn is ended (not a direct quote but I hope you get the idea).
It's not elevated. The "Open" areas are actualy a spacial terrain type (Like the "space" on the SN map) You can move over them as normal, but if you are a non flyer and end your movement on it, then you would fall and take damage as per the special rules. You would then end up on the numbered square on the roof according to the section you "fell" in.
Another way to look at it, imagine the roofs are regular grounded terrain, the open areas are deep pits to the Moleman's realm. If you fall in the pits, the Moloids throw you in to an elevator that takes you to the surface (You smell and they don't want you poluting their underground caverns).
You are basicaly jumping from rooftop to rooftop. (Though I think figures with L/C should have been safe if they were adjacent to a building. This would be like a swingling, or Spider-Man clinging to the side of the building and [u]NOT[/n] falling.
Best action I had with this, I was able to mind control a Joker/Lockjaw with Prof X, had LJ carry Joker off the edge (Both take one damage), then with my Jokers action (Placed them on a border so they went to different roof squares) I had him walk off the building again.
The way I explained it to my players is like how the Ninja Turtles (or Batman/Robin, etc) jump across rooftops.... they jump across with ease. If they miss (or get knocked off the building), they fall. That's what the rules represent... it's a battle on the rooftops.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
