When you use the transporter ablility If you are baseing someone do you need to roll breakaway to use it? Or do you atuomaticily break away like is if you had HSS?
You cannot use the transporter move-attack option if you begin a move action adjacent to an opposing character. Transporters do have to break away from opposing figures as normal (i.e. if they have l/c or phasing no roll is needed).

The Legion rulebook says that you can't be adjacent to an opposing character to use it at all. So it appears that when adjacent to an opposing character you have to breakaway for a normal move, and can't use the transporter move and attack at all.
