Can a grounded fig with HSS go through the adjacent corner of an opposing figure and a wall
__o__
ooXEo
the ___ is the wall
the o are empty spaces
the X is a friendly fig and the E is the enemy fig, can the enemy fig with HSS go through the caddy corner where the wall and the friendly fig meet to the upper o???
Assuming there is no hindering terrain and such to stop a boot speed HSS character, that is perfectly valid. In fact, any character could move the way you describe, provided things like break away and/or the proper feats/powers/abilities are used.
Oh, and this is just one of my pet peeves, but grounded is an elevation type (it means non-elevated and non-soaring) not a character type. A flying character on the ground is just as grounded as boot speed character on the ground This message brought to you by the letter "G"!
would this still be possible if there were two opposing characters on a diagonal? Based on the answer I assume so but I want to be sure

Z is trying to get to the square northwest if him, through two opposing characters. Can he get through in all situations, provided a breakaway roll (if necessary) is made?

thanks
The only way that would not work is if XX was actually a double based character (and would be continuous across the diagonal). Otherwise, sure: roll breakaway, then Z can move between or around as you like.
I thought HSS let you move past characters, not through them, so if you had an opposing character next to a wall it would create blocking, which means the character can't just go through the blocking part, and can't move through the character. HSS doesn't let you move through other characters, you just don't stop when you become adjacent to them.
Edit:
"Give this character a power action. It automatically breaks away and can move through squares ADJACENT to opposing characters. During its move, this character can as a free action make one close combat attack
or one ranged combat attack with its range value halved for the attack. This character must be in a square where it could legally end its move in order to make the attack. This character can continue to use the rest of its movement after making the attack."
You can't move through opposing figures, only through squares adjacent to enemy figs, so if an enemy figure is next to a wall I don't see how you could move through the square.

True, but...

so if you had an opposing character next to a wall it would create blocking,
Characters do not equal terrain. Ever.
Some things, like determining LOF, may seem similar, but characters are characters and terrain is terrain. Two completely separate things in the game.

which means the character can't just go through the blocking part, and can't move through the character.
So there is no 'blocking part'. There is a character next to blocking terrain, yup, but that is it. Any character (HSS or otherwise) can move between the other character and the blocking terrain on the diagonal, provided the other appropriate conditions are met (breakaway, using a certain power or feat, etc).
