I know we've all heard this one a million times before, but I've got a 300 point marvel only tourney this weekend and I want to try out a fantastic four team. Here's what I've come up with:
V Mr. Fantastic
R invisible girl
V Human torch
E Black cat
R mandroid
E AIM Medic
The idea is to have human torch carrying black cat go out and do some damage while the rest stay back and support. When ever Jonny looks like he needs a hand, I'll toss Mr. fantastic over with the Mandroid to help out. If Reed starts to look weak, he can slip off with his plasticity to the medic and get healed, or the mandrod can just toss sue to him to beef up his defense. Sue otherwise will stand in the back and boost the defense of the medic and the madroid. Black cat will use her spidey team ability to boost Jonny's abilities however he needs them, (a plus one to attack with the hydra team ability, a plus one to damage with the sheild team ability) and if all else fails use her probability control to re-roll.
I know Mr. Fantastic is alot to spend on a team this sized, so if anyone can come up with a better idea let me know.
I find that human torch is better off carrying around invisible girl. He can do a running shot, land in some hindering terrain and his def. is 21 vrs ranged attacks.
Also, Why do you want to use Mr Fantastic instead of She-hulk. I think its cool to be seeing someone use him, but she-hulk is really so much better
I ran a team once of like:
Exp SheHulk
Vet Torch
rookie invisible girl
Vet Doombot
some version of black panther and some medic, cant remember the specifics... but anyway. She Hulk caused so much chaos that by the time she was dealt with, human troch/invisible girl were untouchable.
hey thanks for responding. Ok.... so I know what your saying about she hulk being great.... but would she be better? Or just the obvious choice? I know everybody stays away from using Mr. Fantastic, and that is.... as you mentioned.... why I wanted to use him.
Can you, or anyone see where I'm going to run into some real trouble with this team? I think it might be tough against an a team with stealth indoors and it's going to be tough getting back to the medics on the back lines of a team. I guess I'm just planning to tie up anyone trying to run back to a medic with Mr. F's plasticity. Any other ideas or strategies I should look out for?
Well, plasticity is a really great power, probably the most underrated one in the game, so I like mister fantastic. I guess what I was trying to say in my earlier post is that its gonna be difficult to really deal out damage. Try it tho! Maby Mr Fantastic's outwit and decent attack abilities will help more than im imagining. In the only game ive seen Mr fantastic used, the opponent payd so much attention on taking out the other members that by the time they had, fantastic was nearly untouchable.
I see how the mandroid helps the human torch to deal 4 clix per turn (via black cat). thats a really nice combo and maby it can be used to enhance mr fantastics ranged attacks as well? Hmm.. might be really good afterall.
The problem I see is that with Mr. fantastic taking up so much of your points after human torchs first clix his damage is down to 2. So if someone has INV. or IMP. your team will have a hard time hitting them. I would have to agree with Doc and say go with a heavy hitter or 2. Also throw in a panther so you can make up for fantastics outwit mid dial. Just my thoughts, yet it is your tourny so good luck
well an e thing has 1 more defense than she hulk and his damage stays at 4 for a click longer.you cant really compare e thing anfd mr.f because they have different roles in teams,i guess he is as good as thing.
