If an opponent is using a GL and carrying eight other figs with them, is it out of line to make them move around corners at least one space away from the corner and not go directly diagonal?

It seems that when moving from position 1 up to position 5 GL in example one "cuts corners" so to speak. Wouldn't that scrape off like half his group?

I would thing that he would have to constantly leave room for all those other figs to move along with him, like a big 3X3 square with him in the center. Also, what about going through doorways that are one square wide? Everyone just forms up single file?

Yes, it is out of line.

During a move while carrying figures, those figures are off the board. In a home game, its ok for 'thematic purposes', but in a tourney setting, its bad.

Ahh, I didn't realise they were "off the board".

But I guess it does make sense since the ring could just put people in their optimal places while moving.

Hypersonic speed is a bit more cut and dry, since the character(s) are not set down for the attack (being off the board), because it is the middle of the movement.
