Bravo! Brilliant story telling there Vance! I especially enjoyed the Guard's horror at seeing Rachel's phoenix force manifesting.

Good story.....glad I played the game, before luck ran out.

The next 2 on-line games .... Sealed Leag and X-men tranning.... dice rolls failed resulting in total wipe out of the teams I played.

Hopefully the x-men would be ready for next match.

Great Write up Vance. I actually found myself pulling for the X-Vengers in the story, though how i pushed for their defeat in the game

Captain America breathed a sigh of relief as the last of the guard fell before immediately taking charge once more. He ordered Thor to guard the prisoners as he and the X-Men tended the wounded. Cap breathed another sigh as he realized they had suffered no fatalities. Once Mantis regained consciousness the teams wasted no time in transporting back to Eros' ship, though not before destroying the other navigational thruster and setting up a long range carrier wave distress signal so the guard would be stranded forever.

On board Eros's ship the teams found they had mutual goals but different destinations. Eros was taking the Avengers to Kree-Lar to meet with the head of the council while the Starjammers had learned that it was the Shi'ar that had chosen Earth as a Penal colony. The teams agreed that two chances of success were better and wished each other luck before the X-Men and Starjammers returned to their ship and the two forces headed their separate ways.
