I did this once with a Exiles team, I used to sub Amazo for Mimic.
He was on one of his last 2 or 3 clix and my opponent had 2 figs at almost full strength but only added up to about 150 pts.
There were only a couple of minutes left in the round (less than 2), i'm not proud of it but i ran and won.
However, one of my friends has constantly given me flack for that one time i ran and frankly i get tired of it. Its a lame strategy, i don't like it. But if you're set to win on points with only a few turns left to go and you really want to win its a viable strategy.
Its something else entirely if you're 20 minutes into a round and your vet superman is the only thing you have left and your opponents figures are all grounded and you run into soaring and stay there for half an hour.
Running from the fight to get a more advantagous possition (ie range on non ranged) is fine. What I don't enjoy is like what happened last week end. I'm in a fight, I have not taken damage (ecept from 3 crit misses) but his entire team was on their last 2-3 clix. Every time a figure is injured they run, but since he has no medic he just hides with them. This goes on for over 25 minutes. I manged to base and kill one but he as the same time flurres and puts him back in the lead by 14 points and starts running again with about 5 minutes left. I finaly catch him, but he runs one figure with leap climb from me and leave another and he calls turn and says time is up. The judge says there is about a minute left so I kill a 40 point piece and end turn as he can't damage one figure and both he need a 10 to hit the other.
I do not like to just run away for no other pupose but to run. Like I said, retreat, reform for better possision is one thing. Running behind a building, then when based, running to the other side, or even worse running to the top and blocking the ladder against grounded figures with no range.
