Now, say I have a character who is just within eyeline and range of another of my characters with Perplex.
I can Perplex them and then they can take off and do what they need to do, right? They don't need to stay in range of the Perplexer the entire time to have it be effective?
And if I have someone just outside the range and eyelin of my Perplexer, I can't have them run by and get Perplexed on the way to doing another ation, correct? They could run into range, stop, wait a turn and then be Perplexed and contunie on from there? (in relation to questions #1)
As I understand it, once Perplexed it stays with a character even if they turn a corner (break line of sight to the Perplexer) or move out of range. And they can't move into range/LOS and be Perplexed (well, they could, but not continue doing anything that would take advantage of their Perplexion). They have to stop what they are doing and the Perplex has to be applied next turn.
A figure only has to have LOS on another (for perplex, outwit, etc.) at the beginning of the action. If Superman gets perplexed, then TKed, then HSS for 13 spaces and is on the opposite side of the map as the perplexer, it is still valid. Perplex lasts until the end of your turn. A player cannot be perplexed (or outwitted) in the middle of an action. For example Superman runs by con artist during HSS he cannot be perplexed during his action.
First, once the free action line of sight power is used, it is used. Line of Sight may be blocked after that, characters move, etc., but the number modified/power outwitted will remain so until natural expiry.
Perplex cannot happen during the middle of another action. So, if a character is running by, it is in the middle of an action (either through running shot, hypersonic, or a number of others).
