DOPPLEGANGER: Give Trigon a power action. Put up to three SPECIAL markers in unoccupied squares to which Trigon has line of fire adjacent to opposing characters 8 or fewer squares from him; these are doppleganger tokens. Doppleganger tokens are not characters or terrain, but can be destroyed as if they are blocking terrain. Characters opposing to Trigon must break away from doppleganger tokens. When a character opposing to Trigon occupies a square adjacent to a doppleganger token or tokens is given a non-free action, deal the character 1 penetrating damage if the character is adjacent to a doppleganger token after the action is resolved. No more than three doppleganger tokens can be on the map at a time. At the end of any non-free action given to Trigon, he can remove any number of doppleganger tokens from the map.
Question 1: It states that the tokens are not characters or terrain, but that opposing characters need to break away. Would the opposing character be able to Range Combat another character when they are adjacent to a token? Or are they considered to be "locked up".
Question 2: It says to "deal the character 1 penetrating damage if the character is adjacent to a doppleganger token...". If there were multiple tokens adjacent to a character, would they take more than one damage?

THanks for the insight.
1.) Nothing indicates they are adjacent to an opposing figure, only that they have to break-away...
2.)By the wording, just 1 damage if the criteria is met, no matter how many time it is met.
"I love man for all the potential that he holds, and hate men for how seldom they live up to it"

Agreed on both, but for clarification sake on #1, the opposing figure can use ranged combat because it is not a figure (which is why it says it), but he will take a click of damage if he attacked any figure or failed a breakaway.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

indeed. Love how even a failed breakaway=a click o' pain. I don't understand why so many people say they will never use it. Plus, If you just stay put and blast away at ol' Trigon, then you take doppleganger damage and mystics damage if you hit and wound...
Love Trigon...just love him.

Top it off by throwing a character with Pasticity next to whoever you drop a Dopelganger next too. So even if they want to break away, they need a 1. And they can't blast Trigon without dealing with the tie up character and taking 1 from Mystics damage from the wildcard. R Triplicate Girl fits this bill perfectly.
BTW, am I the only one that's going to be crazy enough to get 3 extra Trigon's and repaint them into doplegangers? I was thinking of striping the paint off them if it was transperent plastic undernieth. If not, maybe repaint them black or something.
even better, just to mess with a opponet more: Space Phantom!
Plasticity and shape change= can't move, cant hit if all willing.
evil, just evil
" OK, Shang-Chi, Darkhawk: flank left. Guardsman, carry Moon Knight round right to object. Giant-Man, take point up the middle, be ready to rush in. Bucky, go piss off the Hulk!"

Well its something decent to do with the extras you'll probably get when cherry-picking for chase Supermen...

Would characters with Leap/Climb and Hypersonic Speed have to break away from Doppleganger Tokens?
