I'm not the OP... his Power Cosmic logo is spiffier than mine
whoops! My mistake! Sorry, I've been sniffing too much new plastic this weekend...
Anyway, that's how I intemperate the literal wording of the power. And although it does not use the same words as Kyle's Construct, it has the same effect.
Also, I am not the Rules Arb. I could be wrong, but if I were judging, that would be my ruling and explanation of the power. And it's how it was played at another venue I went to on Sunday.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one until an official ruling or FAQ comes out about it, as I'm sure it will. I pulled the big guy today and elected not to play him (2 pogs as backup? no thanks) in favor of Green Arrow, Batgirl, Rip Hunter, Congo Bill, and Lois Lane. I'm glad I did too... those are three very impressive figures for their point costs! Back to the point, we managed to avoid any arguments over Doppleganger today.

I really want my Trigon's Daughter to come in the mail, and I want to play the two in a 400 point match. There is 55? points left over for feats. Fortitude... Repulsor Shield... Lucky break...

Can't assign him Construct... you have to actually have Barrier on your dial to be able to be assigned (and use) a feat. Trigon can only use Barrier; he doesn't actually have the power.
The only figure I can think of that can use a feat with a special power is Avengers Mandarin... he has Willpower, one of the two possible prerequisites for Mental Shields, at the same time a special power grants him Mind Control. If he were to have his Willpower Outwitted, he could no longer use Mental Shields on a Mind Control action as he no longer has the prerequisite power actually showing.
EDIT: see you may have caught yourself there That would be a wicked combination if you ask me.

There are plenty of Mystical characters for under 55 points that you could use to make a theam team... perhaps a rookie Raven from either set for additional probability control... Hey, exp Iron Fist is Mystical...

He would need 4 figures to make a Mystical theme team in 400 pt.
To be fair, you can toss a couple Vampire Lackeys in to fill out the team and get the theme. You could also add an E and V to a 300 pt. Trigon team for theme bonus... I think.
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."

#1 What this statement means is that in order for an opposing figure to move away from a Doppleganger token, you must roll a D6 to break away. You may not Phase/Teleport away, you may not Leap/Climb Away, you may not be carried away, you may not be Harbingered away, and whatever other way there is to move a character that I have not listed.
#2 No matter how many tokens you are adjacent to, you do not take more than 1 damage per non-free action.
Hope this helps! I totally kicked butt with Trigon this weekend! He's great in sealed!!!
i'm glad trigon did well for you.
#1 i agree that the character must roll to break away.
however,
i don't agree that it ignores there use of powers such as l/c p/t.
else wise it would read like such.
#2 this i also agree with.
thanks to everyone for your opinions on this power.
keep up the conversation.
keep it nice.
