I think we are fully aware that Black Manta is considered by many to be the worst of all heroclix. That isn't what I'm talking about here though. We know he isn't very useful for his points and what not but seriously, based on his dial alone and his cost not taken into account, does this figure match up to the Black Manta we see in the comics?

I for one say no. He isn't poweful enough. He is intelligent and extremely resourceful like the typical arch villain but more than that he has a small army of loyal "Manta Men" (for real). He also has a fleet of underwater sea craft and extremely powerful laser beams that shoot from his helmet. Black Manta is formiddable as a hand-to-hand combatant as well as an evil genius mastermind. Anyone else think a Black Manta revisit in a future DC set may put him on a higher plateau?....futhermore, Aquaman too?

I'm a big Aquaman fan and I'd be all for a Black Manta redo! Also with the changes Aquaman has undergone I think an Aquaman redo is Definitally in order. Possibly with Support, although I'd like to put as little support as possible into the game.

I actually like the idea of Aquaman with Support...it's a better power on the top of a powerful offensive dial like Xorn...or on a figure like Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange and Samandahl. That would be cool. Basically a cheap brick with support...

Aquaman is probably up for a redo, but I'm betting if we see one it will either be a Kingdom Come variant, or a classic Aquaman, ala Hal Jordan. Black Manta could use a redo as well, more for playability than anything. Aquaman is still a good piece, especially the LE. It'd be nice if they did a better job with the archenemy situation though. Like say, all the FF as archenemies of Dr. Doom, or maybe a better Leader. Loki! Why we still don't have a Loki I'll never understand.

Black Manta is a total badass...especially so in the old 'Super Friends' cartoons. Or at least his voice was badass.

I haven't seen the new Manta (wasn't there one in crisis?) but I hope it's a dramatic improvement over the old piece, because you're right, it didn't do BM justice!
