Ran into this weekend and wanted some clarification. I tried looking at SuperGENE's rules/errata, but can't seem to get to them from work. I understand you can't outwit someone who is stealthed even if you are adjacent to the character. This weekend we played a fun game of Hairy guys vs Apes(yeah it is goofy) Anyway, below is the setup. Can Red Ghost use outwit on Dark Beast? (Dark Beast did not have stealth) My opponent tried to tell me that because Grodd and Prof were there, that Red Ghost couldn't see him. My argument was that I was adjacent and if I could punch him, I should be able to see him to outwit him.
no he was right because outwit still requiers a line of fire so the 2 other characters were blocking line of sight
Okay, thanks. Seemed silly. He was trying to use the fact that it was a ranged action, but then it would seem like you could never outwit anyone adjacent to you. Luckily it was not a game breaker. I couldn't roll anything higher than a 5 for most of the game, so my little outwit really wouldn't have mattered
palinkay is correct.
2 figures adjacent on a diagonal block lof through that diagonal. It's the same way it is with stealth. You are adjacent and can us HtH, but you cannot make range attacks or use any powers/feats/TA that require LoS through that diagonal.

Great! Thanks for the further clarification. Makes sense, when I really think about it.
