If that is the only figure they have, then you would get the win, you also don't get any points for the victory. The match would end because your opponet didn't have any other figures, but possed and captured figs are returned to their owners force, so no points.
I actually won a game exactly like this one week but using Jericho. I was getting thumped by Spectre and so Possessed him to end the match. Won the game, had less points than my opponent. It was actually a lot of fun to end it that way!

This is incorrect.
Possessing the last figure does not DEFEAT the figure. It does end the game (because the opponent had no figures after the resolution of an action), but you score no victory points as the figure wasn't defeated.
Let's say that it is a 600 point game. Team A = Jericho and some other figures. Team B = 600 point Spectre.
Situation 1...Spectre has KOed someone (say a 1 point Lian Harper) on Team A before the Possession.
Result...Team B (Spectre) wins. He earns 1 victory point. Team A has 0 victory points.
Situation 2...Nobody made KOs before the possession.
Result...Roll off.
1.3.3 Tournament Winner and Tiebreakers
Tournament win-loss record is the primary factor in determining ranking during all Swiss rounds in all HeroClix tournaments unless otherwise specified. Draws are not permitted in HeroClix. Ties in tournament win-loss record during the Swiss portion of each tournament are resolved by the following criteria in the order below:
1) The total victory points accumulated throughout the Swiss portion of the tournament
2) The total win-loss records for all previous opponents of the tied players
3) The total victory points accumulated by all previous opponents of the tied players
Victory points are only used to break win-loss record ties. Team A wins because its the last team with characters still on the battlefield.

General E&C:

On page 45, change the first two sentences of the “Victory!” section to “At the end of the game, if only one player has surviving characters (characters not defeated by the end of the game), that player is the winner. Otherwise that player that scores the most victory points wins the game.”
Glossary:

defeated: A character that is knocked out and removed from the game.
The Possessed character is NOT defeated. Thus, at the end of the game, both players have surviving characters, so we go to the "otherwise" which is based on VPs.
But at the end of the game, the possessed character is on the force with the surviving characters. That force is controlled by the one player who has surviving characters so that player is the winner.

It doesn't matter whose team it was on when the game ends.
I showed the victory rules above.
The figure who was possessed was not defeated. In order to win by eliminating the other team, you must DEFEAT the entire team. This did not happen, so it goes to victory points.
Heck, if it was a 500 point game and my World's Finest made you use your Protected before you Possessed it, I'd win with 8 victory points.

No, the rules says in order to win, you only have to be the one player with surviving characters. When you successfully use Possession on the last character an opponent controls, you are the one player with surviving characters so you are the winner.

No, you wouldn't because I'd be the one player with surviving characters which means I would be the winner.
I thought, and I may be wrong though, that possessed characters returned to their owner's force at the end of the game.
I thought that was the key to why in a 600 point game, if there had been no KO's, and my Anti-Monitor was Possessed by Deadman, we would have a roll-off because there was a tie in victory points at 0 points.

Q: What happens if my opponent uses Possession on my last character?
A: As per the rulebook (page 45), if one of the players has no more characters left on the battlefield, the game ends.
Once the Possession action is over, if one player has no friendly characters, the game is over. With the game over, each player would calculate the victory points they have earned and the winner would be determined accordingly.
That's not what the rules say, but I can't argue with what the RA and GD say.

You are incorrect.
Perhaps I should point out the FAQ entries, too:

Q: If the game ends and a character is possessed, who gets the points for the possessed character?
A: The player who brought the character originally. Once the game ends, all powers end as well. The character reverts back to friendly to its original force and the owner gets points accordingly
Getting points accordingly now means that the Possessee gets no survivor points and the Possessor gets no victory points, but the point is that when the victory is determined the Possessed guy goes back to its original team.
The team was not completely eliminated, so it goes to victory points. If any victory points were scored at all (even the use of a Protected), whoever has the highest total wins. If none were scored, it is a roll-off.
