So, I bought a new phone today. After taking like, an hour to get it programmed, transferred, etc. I finally get to play around with the damn thing. I AIM Doomsie to brag about my new phone, and text a few friends. Immediately I get texts back asking who this is. I tell 'em it's Collin, and they ask why I got a new number.
Well, my number shouldn't have changed...
But it did. I check my number in the Phone Info menu, and sure enough they have given me my Dad's number. Now his phone doesn't work, and he thinks it's my fault.
Gonna get it sorted out tomorrow, hopefully... But this is SERIOUSLY lame.
I told Erica about this (she works in Verizon Customer Service). Her response:
I'm assuming your father and you share an account. All you need to do is call cust service and let them know that the phone your on is supposed to go to the other number on acct and to put the original phone back on your fathers line. They will have the esn (electronic serial number) for your fathers phone so you don't need to know it. are you an acct mgr on the acct? If not, then the acct holder will have to be the one that calls in. It's an easy fix and should be like only a 3 minute call.
Got it fixed today, my dad took the phone down to the place and they got em working perfectly in 10 minutes.
that actually worked out well.
I guess I don't see how your dad taking time off from whatever he's doing to go down to wherever they are (price of gas and all that) is "working out well". It was still their screw up that caused the hassle. Verizion should have at least comped you some off of your bill or something for your trouble.
