Contingency Plan
Prerequisites: Leadership or Mastermind
Choose a character.
If the character's controller does not use all of his or her actions for a turn, put a contingency token on this card if there are two or fewer tokens on this card. When a friendly character is given action, you can remove any number of tokens from this card: The character modifies the friendly character's speed, attack, or range value by +1 for each token removed.
When the character loses Leadership or Mastermind, remove all contingency tokens from this card.
You can add tokens up to 3 tokens.

When you take tokens off to modify a value, do all of the modifiers have to go to the same value, or can they be spread around anywhere you like? The card is sort of ambiguous on this point.
For example, if I take two tokens off of the CT card, can I only +2 my attack up, or can I +1 range and +1 attack?

All modifiers have to go to the same combat value.
From the Player Guide (under Contingency Plan entry):
"Clarifications:
• When tokens are removed from this feat, only one combat value can be modified for the tokens removed."

Would this work with free actions?
So to get around said limitation...what if i give, lets say Batman, a free action to use Outwit, and modify his range by +1. (this obviously wouldn't be of benefit for this particular action, but keep reading.)
Then I give Batman a power action to use OotS. I still have 2 tokens on the card so i modify his attack by +2.
So to sum it up, do free actions count as an action required to modify stats via CP?
Also, shouldn't it say "When a friendly character is given an action"?
That would be correct grammatically, but is there an actual reason it is worded that way, or just a typo?
"A Jester unemployed is nobody's fool." - The Court Jester "And so he says, I don't like the cut of your jib, and I go, I says it's the only jib I got, baby!
however you may not increase the range of most free action things such as outwit, perplex, and special powers that give you a range like Arachne.
Mostly because those are not stats.

That's a typo from whoever entered it into the HCRealms database. The card actually says, "an action".
Really? I think there are a lot more troublesome things in the world of heroclix to 'complain' about then being able to increase attack, speed, or range every once in a while for 12 points. Can't see that as being very game breaking...

He just wants to be associated by name with something game-breakingly cool.

I am not complaining what-so-ever. As you can tell by my name, it is kind of my crutch. After playing this game since Infinity Challenge, I have come to find out that the dice are my worst enemy.
So to me, adding +3 to my attack is broken. I love it.
