I only keep two each of the generic characters and one each of the named characters (funny how I argue to support dupe play). I have my 2 each of the VET and EXP. A friend of mine has not even scored 1 ROOKIE Con Artist yet and has bought as many boosters as I have.
Well, frankly I hate fixing rules after a game has been established... but...
If they want to limit perplex a bit... maybe they could say:
A single combat value cannot be perplexed more than once per turn.
Therefor, 4 Con Artists couldn't perplex one figure's attack or damage +4... but one C-Artist could perplex the figure's range, the 2nd could perplex his attack, the 3rd could perplex the dice roll (you can, right?), and the 4th could perplex the damage.
This way, the Chili-Cheeze-Con-Arties would still be able to use their teams...

No you can not perplex a dice roll. You can only perplex the numbers on the fig.
For those who keep saying that they don't see how you can use perplex on your own teammate, I think you are focusing too much on the game mechanic and not the end result.
Joker says something that leaves his opponent momentarly distracted. This leaves him vulnerable, easier to hit, and with a chance for more damage to be done because he is not properly defending himself. This can be done in game mechanics in three ways: 1. Lower his defense, 2. raise the attack of a figure, or 3. raise the damage of an attacker.
Now 2 only makes more sense because if the defender is distracted, he should be more vulnrabel to ALL attacks, just not the attack of one person. Of course, this would also make perplex more powerful if you could lower the defense for or raise the damage of all attacks made against him.
