It reads: At the beginning of an action during which two friendly characters using the X-Men team ability are adjacent to each other, you can choose one of the characters, give it a power action, and roll a d6. Heal the other adjacent, friendly character of 1 damage, and on a result of 1–4, deal the character given the power action 1 unavoidable damage.
Can you use probability control with the new X-man TA, where you roll to see if you do damage? If so, which character needs to be seen by the one with PC? Can the one being healed use the PC, if they lose the power once healed?
What I'm considering this with is Cuckoos. Say, Cuckoo A is down one click, and Cuckoo B is down two clicks. Both have PC at this point. If B is healing A with the TA, could A use the PC first, even if she loses it once she's healed, and then B could use it again if A fails? This seems really abusive when I'm thinking about running a team with 8 Cuckoos on it. It almost looks like my opponent will have to do all 4-5 clicks to a Cuckoo on one turn if he wants it to be knocked out, because I will be able to heal them all up as much as I want every turn (if the dice and number of actions cooperate).
Yes, you can use Probability Control for the die roll from the X-Men team ability.
The character who is given the power action (and takes 1 damage) must be visible to the character using Probability Control.
The healing does not happen until the action resolves. If the character being healed has Probability Control during the action then it can be used to reroll the die.
Cuckoo B could use Probability Control to reroll the X-Men die roll if she has it before she is healed. Cuckoo A could not use Probability Control to reroll the X-Men die roll if she only gets it from taking the 1 damage from the X-Men team ability. Basically, they would need to have Probability Control on their dial at the beginning of the action to be able to use it.
