I profusely apologize, because I'm sure this has been asked before, but I looked in the FAQ and I couldn't find it. The question is pretty simple: if a character with Charge rolls for breakaway and fails, can he still attack? The rules do say that if a breakaway attempt fails, the action is over, but I wonder if that's just poor wording that's not meant to be inclusive of Charge? It kinda makes sense to me that if a piece has charge, he should be able to attack even if a breakaway attempt fails. Yes, no, maybe?
Nope - the wording is dead on. If you fail a break away roll, the action ends. You token the character and move on to the next action. No attack is allowed.
Another example - a character with Super Strength is adjacent to an object. He rolls to break away and fails - he cannot even pick up the object.
Hey, well, at least I was right. I kinda seems like one of those "just for the game" sort of rules that doesn't really apply to an actual comicbook fight. I mean, if you were so wrapped up with the guy that you couldn't move away, you shouldn't have any problem taking a swing at him, right?
Oh, well.

Well, that depends on how you view it.
Say you are face to face with the guy you are slugging it out with. Suddenly, you turn around and try to run away. The other guy grabs your shirt, stopping you dead in your tracks. After that, would you really be able to spin around once more to punch him?

Yes, Yes I can. I tell you, this game makes NO sense.

I can't honestly say I find that suggestion too implausible, especially when you consider that most of these guys are somewhat experienced at hand-to-hand combat. If they can't handle a little pivot, they should maybe think about hanging up their cape.

It's not a big deal, though. The fact is, there are a lot of things in the game that don't resemble a comicbook battle. But hey, it's not a comicbook battle. It's a collectible miniatures strategy game, and a very fun one at that. So, I can certainly live with it. It's just part of the game.
