So we were thinking about this last night, and we came upon the question...
"Can you actually Perplex yourself?"
Yes, Perplex says "any character", but also states "this character must be in LOS" (indicating that the assumption is another character). The rulebook (DC, p13) specifically states "a character may not use any power on themselves--damaging or healing", which is kind of vague. There is no FAQ ruling on Perplex, but the FAQ ruling on Probability Control specifically says "You may use Probability Control on yourself", presumably to circumvent the overarching rule on p13.
I mean, sure, everyone uses Perplex on themselves all the time and they don't think twice about it, but the rules contrdictions and pre-existing precidents indicate that either:
A) You can't Perplex yourself.
B) The FAQ should point out that you can Perplex yourself.
i still think it's legal. The PAC is supposed to take precedent over the rulebook, and it says "any character". the LOS line doesn't really apply to a figure perplexing themselves because they would always have LOS to themselves.
Lying to myself was never the problem.
The problem was when I believed.
if you really want to perplex yourself, I recommend trying to understand Elevated Blocking Terrain.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
