Q: Can the HoT Hand Ninja use his special power to make a close combat attack after he's been carried?
A: Yes - it is a free action, so he can do it.
Be careful on your wording there nbperp. You should clarify that the ninja has to be in hindering and have no action tokens to make the free attack after being carried. Just saying. Someone could read that sentence and take it to mean something incorrect. Trust me, there are such people out there.

Personally, I don't think that's needed.
He says he can use the power after being carried. Using the power encompasses the need for hindering terrain.
Just like SPs only override the parts of powers that they specify as being overridden, if an FAQ doesn't address a certain part of a power it doesn't mean that that part is somehow overridden.
The problem with that thread is he doesn't answer questions in that thread. It's not really a Q&A thread. He has links to blogs, which is not as user friendly as an actual thread. And even if you post questions on his blogs, he STILL does not give answers on them (on the blogs themselves).
The blogs didn't work out the way I had thought they would. I thought I'd be able to close them so I could keep a recurring Q&A open.
That said, I think any single thread which is an open call for Q&A is going to get long and hard to search through. I think what works better is if people who have questions...
1 - First, use the Search Forums capability to try to find the answer. This forum is very different from some of the technical forums I participate in. On those, if you ask a question that has been asked before, there are people who will post a refusal to answer if they know it's been answered before. The nicer of those people might provide links, but many do not. (That said, I think the people around here are much nicer/cooler than the people on those forums) [I will also say here that I wish the Search engine allowed for more robust searches like the ability to use "and" and "or" for the words I'm searching by - and if there is such capability that I don't know about, someone please let me know]
2 - Failing to find a thread on point, start a new thread. This means that no one will have to search through a thread with the general heading of "Rules Arb Q&A" but can search for the topic they are looking for.
3 - Finally, the point of the deputies is that you do NOT need me to be the one to answer a question. I spend enough time on here and review just about every rules thread. If I disagreed with something a deputy said, I would certainly post. Barring that, I shouldn't have to come on to every thread that they answer (which is 99% if not all of them) and certify their answer. That's the whole point of having deputies.
I am new to this game and this site and have found just about every question that I have thought of is already answered. They have been pretty easy to find and the posters themselves have been INCREDIBLY polite and helpful. So, to all of you that search through first, then ask: kudos! and may your time with Heroclix be as enjoyable as mine has so far.
