I guess I'll get the ball rolling. Has anyone else noticed an improvement in The Authority already? I think the new writer is going to get into how these guys think and feel. I felt like the Ellis days. I also miss having Voodoo around in the Cats. I love Grifter being center stage though.
On Gen13, I mss Roxy, but good riddance to the others. Caitlin and the new team show much promise, since they aren't slackers, and show actual interest in their environment.

yeah, agree that the authority is a needed part of the heroclix universe. wasn't especially happy about the new direction of the writing. the plot's ok (intergalactic oil rustlers....is certainly a play on current events....), but that they're still bashing the head's of people one at a time is ludicrous considering the doctor can turn all enemies into piles of steaming #### whenever he waves his arms. stilll, good book.

agree with you about wildcats too. i love it that grifter is (nearly) head of the show.

Team achilies is something i just don't want. it's like a whole team of little army men instead of actual super heroes... don't like them (for taking the same stance on metahumans as the authority take on gov'ts...it's hypocricy) and don't like the writing with their push button solutions. but hey, that's why i don't buy it.

what about 21 down? that's a great book! and they just introduced us to wildstorm's version of Captain america. really cool stuff! long live the American Workhorse!

yeah. agree that this stuff has to be made eventually. and maybe because the plots are a bit more complicated than going to kill magneto or having superman hit a bad guy really hard, they'll create some more complicated scenarios for the game too...

My goodness, your right. I tend to think of Planetary being by itself, as it interacts so little with the rest of the books. Warren Ellis is the greatest. I sometimes wonder if he wished he had created Planetary under his own imprint. Well you've got to love a book where the FF are bad guys.

yeah. great book. i actually kinda wonder if he meant to create it at all. i mean, he hasn't written for it in a year, and the stuff he's wasting his time with now is incredibly lame in comparison....

he should just get drunk with chuck dixon (my favorite writer in comics...did nightwing and team 7!), give away what he wants the plot to turn into, and let dixon go with it.

i actually tried to do a role playing game based on it, using white wolf's "adventure" game. cool game. it really picked up the feel of the planetary plot line. check it out if you get a chance.

Patially, Ellis lost all interest in Superheroes in general. Mostly though, due to the nature of the series exploring archetypes, and playing with genres, he wanted to wait until he had top quality stories to tell. I think he also wants no one but Cassiday on the art. I think Jim Lee agrees, and issues will only come out when these two guys are ready. I will wait for quality.

Now, if only Jim Lee would stop waisting time on Batman and come back to his Wildcats, or any of his other creations. A Deathblow tale from the past would be awesome.

Planetary/Batman is finally here! Nothing like a year and a half wait. I really want to see this book. The JLA crossover was pretty good.

No Grifter Fans? You've got to love a character who is basically like Bruce Willis' character from Die Hard in a superhero universe.

How about Storm Watch. Normals versus metas. My friends and I used to have a Champions campaign like this. It was darkly humorous.

Well. If Malchyor and I are the only guys reading the Wildstorm universe, that's not good news for these books. Of course it doesn't help that Wizard completely ignores them. I hope some Wizard guy reads this and does something about this crime. It's bad enough they never supported Nexus and Ghost. A whole page devoted to He-Man. I may be ill. Well, I've ranted enough on some subjects the last few days. Following posts hope to be more cheerful. Here's an upnote. Buy "Ruse"! It's keen!

I'll jump in to say that I really love Sleeper. I really love Brubaker though, so it would be hard for him to do wrong in my eyes.

I have issue one of The Authority Vol. 2 but can't really get excited to read it yet. I'm hoping that holding the entire arch in my hand will really jar me to get going.

As for Planetary, Ellis has said on his website that he has the series entirely written except for tweaking after collaberation with the artists participating, but he wants to wait on the entire team.

It's good to hear from you. It's funny, but I bought sleeper for the same reason, except it was for Phillips. I had heard of Brubaker, but not experienced his work. Phillips is this incredible chameleon though. Every book he works on, he alters hs style and approach, and yet you always know it's him. Examples are Kid Eternity, Hellblazer, Wildcats, and on. What's also neat on Sleeper, is the new take on Misery. I never expected to see her again. At least I'massuming it's the same girl from Killer Instinct. I could be wrong. I'll have to check names.
