I have a quick question? I just wanted to verify that the HCRealms rules state that no trade is final until addresses are exchanged. I had a pending trade with someone. We only exchanged offers. I was quite serious about it, but then decided against it. I want to make sure I was being fare to him. I made an offer then immediately PM'd him back saying that I decided against it. Again no addresses were exchanged. What is the proper thing to do if you decide to change your mind before addresses are exchanged? All imput is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
If you have exchanged addresses and agreed on the trade the trade is final. It is not time to start asking for someone to add something in to the trade. If someone backs out and has no better reason than "I got a better deal" that person should get neutral feedback. Also, do not decide to send through a third party after the trade is made.
-That's copy-pasted from Rule #10 under the trade forum guidelines thread.
My thought is that no addresses were exchanged, there was no wrong-doing. This particular person may feel slighted, but you technically didn't do anything wrong. Let them down gently and hope for the best.
Although I don't think neutral feedback is enough of a deterrent these days. For past couple of months, I've been getting a LOT of people canceling trades after addresses have been exchanged. There's someone right now that I've PM'ed 3 or 4 times and they haven't responded and they're on every day. One person even PM'ed a mod to change my comment saying, "trade with extreme caution" is unnecessary. I was the victim and he was the one that broke the rules and I'm the one that gets censored? I'm just getting a little tired of wasting my time and missing out on other chances for these people that break the rules.

I got a few no sending from new traders myself. Didn't used to happen much, but within the last 2 months I got 3 guys won't reply to my PM if they have sent.

Yeah it didn't used to happen to me very often either. I'd say 1 every 4 or 5 months on average. But yeah I've had 4 in the last 2 months. Would have been 5 but one guy finally pm'ed me back and asked if we can cancel the trade since he just doesn't have the time to send out and won't for the next couple of weeks or so. I'm pretty flexible and understanding if people communicate or ask politely. But the ones that say, I'm canceling the trade because I got a better offer or just cancel the trade without trying to work it out, but the heck out of me.

Well i kinda felt you were being pushy. Tanis. I apologized before i even canceled the trade about not wanting to agree with the original trade. Then yes i did cancel later after thinking more about the trade. My fault and i accept the nuetral.
I havent traded in a while and didnt realize how good some pieces were until i check them out. I assumed some would realize this and give good trade back in return. But as some have pointed out some pieces are worth more to others and less to some.
I think as long as the traders are cordial and patient then it should work out to a good trade or at least no hurt feelings.
Me? I've got a different problem. I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard. Always taking constant care not to break something. To break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control, even for a moment, or someone could die. - superman JLU Destoyer

I apologize if I seemed pushy. I always try to be quick with all my trades cuz of a few reasons..one other people might be making a trade for the same piece and also not knowing how long a person responds, I'd like to get all the wrangling out in as few PMs as possible.
But like I said before, I would've worked with you if you didn't feel it was fair. All you had to say was, "Hey, I don't think this is a fair trade, can we work something out?" or something to that effect and I would've been happy to do it. Even after addresses were exchanged. But hey, I'm over it. No worries.
And that note you left about seeing me at Wondercon had me wondering if you were gonna stalk me or something. Not sure if I can make it but might be there at least Friday.

Its all good. Ya noticed you have played at bonkers venue setup. Thought youd be at wonder con. No im not a stocker. Ha ha. Id just enjoy playing against ya in a match.
No worries i guess. Just please dont be so quick to consider someone a flake and well you can trade how you want but more people will want to trade if less try to trade lopsided. IMho.
Like i said in the trade thanks for the time and effort. I dont get to worked up about stuff and take it all as a learning experience.
