Gene, can dual attack, sharpshooter or indomitable be countered? I was under the impression that if it is printed on the plastic (black) dial, it could not be countered. Please clarify and thanks. MIke
Important thing is to differentiate between "Powers", "Symbols" and "Abilities".
From FF Rulebook:
"Colored squares surrounding a character’s combat values indicate its powers."
"Abilities are special capabilities a character possesses, regardless of how its combat dial is turned during a game. There are three types of abilities: combat abilities, team abilities, and special abilities. Combat abilities and team abilities are indicated by symbols printed on a character’s base, while special abilities are typically indicated on a character’s character card."
And from PAC:
"OUTWIT - Once during your turn (but not during another action), as a free action this character counters a power or an ability (other than a team ability) possessed by a single target opposing character."
The symbols on the base can't be Outwitted, but the abilities that they grant, can be. So for example while you can't Outwit the "Wing" symbol, you can Outwit either the Flight ability or the Carry ability and so on.
Regarding the ones you're asking about in particular:
A character with the striped shield defense symbol has the Indomitable ability.
A character with the crosshairs attack symbol has the Sharpshooter ability.
A character with the duo attack symbol is a duo character, and has the Duo Attack ability.
So in each case - yeah. Since each Symbol grants one Ability and each of them can be Outwitted.
I updated the links on my site. I changed file hosting sites because I've been having too many issues with ripway. Let me know how the new service is working.

I talk to you a few weeks back about the compatabiliy list. I was wondering if you still plan to do this or have you scratched this idea? If your still doing this, are you waiting until after the brave and the bold set comes out? Your work is so awesome and is appreciated very much.

Thanks,

SuperGENE does a fantastic job with what he does.
That said, I always recommend that instead of relying on a compatability chart, one should learn why the various elements are or are not compatible. That way when some new mechanic is released which isn't on the list, you can look at the wording of the mechanic and make the determination.
I appreciate the thread you gave me. I was just wondering if he still is going to do it because he said it was in the works, but it might be a huge task. We'll see.
