Now for those that didn't drop $140+ on two booster figs...
Prime wasn't a chase. He's maybe 20 bucks on ebay if you really want him
The best bet for the average man is SI Namor. With the strategy I outlined previously, you can do 28 clicks of guaranteed penetrating damage against a colossal.

I cannot imagine a better legacy for my cousin.

Good gourds, that Namor is rediculous, regardless of how you use him. He's definately one of the top peices between 100 and 200 points, regardless of how high or low on the scale. definately useful in any scenario, including against colossals.
I miss? PC it. You hit? PC it. I hit? I can do better, PC anyways. You miss? I DIDN'T SEE SNAKE EYES, PC IT!
... was just reading a post on Possession... how about you Possess Starro to end the game, and then win the roll off... that's one way to defeat Starro huh?
Ok so basically what i'm getting from this is that unless I know i'm going to be playing against a colossal ahead of time and build my team accordingly, I really don't have much of a chance? lol
Against some colossals a regular team can beat them. Multiple times I've taken out Dark Phoenix, Phoenix, Foom, Both Anti-Monitors, Sinestro and the Sentinels. But I'm sure most people have.
But thats where it stops for me. Yes I've beaten Galactus, but I built knowing I was facing him and it was a one time only victory against him. It also helped that he rolled crit misses on all his attacks vs both chase Supes I had on my team. Same thing with Spectre and Starro. You have to build knowing your facing them.
The only advice I would give you when you face Starro is stop your first round attacks with him on his last clix of invun. He cant regen yet and you know after that clix he has 17 toughness clix and regen on all of them. So when your next turn starts you MUST hit him with 19-24 clixs of damage since he will reduce some of it away. If you cant do that much damage in one turn then take out all his pogs or else you'll never beat him.
skrullojacket and doom. yeah he still has multi attack and can still place tokens but thats about it.
EDIT
I think I have a team that could take Starro head on at 1000
SI 006B Yellowjacket
249 SI040 Doom
318 AA060 Superman Prime
60 CR022 Dawnstar
60 CR022 Dawnstar
60 CR022 Dawnstar
70 CR052 Psycho-Pirate
27 AA006 Gotham City Detective
27 AA006 Gotham City Detective
29 XP024 Destiny

And from reading Starro's rules I'm pretty sure this is legit. Cancel Quintessence with Yellowjacket. Cancel ALL of his powers with Doom. GCD's to buff Doom. Psycho-Pirate perplexes his attack down 2. 3 x Dawnstars give everyone's attack +3. Destiny for prob. Like I said Starro can still multi-attack and place tokens but he can't heal from them.
Theoretically if you get in position and no one gets damaged then if everyone attacks on the same turn (Prime with a heavy), you just did 28 damage to Starro in one turn. Goodbye Starro, thanks for playing. All theory though.

They errata'ed those fig to be immune to possession.
