How have I not already posted anything on V Jack O'Lantern?
Well, I will now.
He's one of my favourite Spidey villains - and while this version probably isn't Jason Macendale, I can pretend. Semantics aside, this Jack is a pretty good representation of the character - the fanboy in me wants to see him with two targets, but that's probably unreasonable - and the sculpt is awesome.
He's a pretty good piece, too. He starts with Running Shot and your choice of a natural 3 damage or Energy Explosion. His 9 AV isn't jaw-dropping, but it's good for a 62-point character. He does drop to 8 right away, which is unfortunate, but at least he's fairly consistent after that (he doesn't see any sixes at all, and he keeps the 8 for four clicks).
Generally, a 'standard hit' is considered to be 3 damage, but in practice a 'standard hit' on Jack is 2 damage (if he doesn't roll Senses, and mine often does) - which puts him onto a 17 DV. Generally, Jack's cheap enough and safe enough (without an Outwitter, most people won't want to shoot at him with one of their big guns because of his Super Senses - even with an Outwitter, there's usually juicier targets) to throw him into the fray and do some pretty good damage with his Running Shot. Even after a hit, his ranged damage capability is still a nice 3. When it drops on his last two clicks, he gets Incapacitate to make up for it.
I'm not going to pretend he's a 5-star figure, but win or lose, he's one of my favourites.
Vet Jack can be used effectively as a 3rd-string fighter on a big force, where his point cost isn't a bit deal.

He's a lot more sure of his role than the other versions - he's a ranged piece from beginning to end, but with the 3 damage that discourages siimply basing him up front. Unfortunately that's the only click where he delivers that kind of up-close kick, so you might be better off breaking away than slugging it out. There's no sense pushing him, since click 2 is a drop in all values, but click 3 can defend itself pretty well. Incapacitate gives him a nice sucker-punch option against bricks at the end.
