I am a Captain Mar-vell fan and would like to give him a try in a tournament at my venue eventually, what are peoples opinion of the figure? and is there any good combo's and tips to use with him?
Note: My venue usually plays around 600pt tournaments that are restricted to modern age and are usually soley DC or Marvel so it would be only marvel figures probably to be used with him.
I had pretty good success with him in a Father's Day-themed team of him Warbounded to SN E Capt. Marvel, with Phyla-Vell and R Aleta rounding out the quartet. Marvel's "Rick Jones" click is good with Warbound. Phyla's Perplex helps him hit, and Aleta affords opportunities to use his Capture SP. Scored me an Odin in that tourney. My only loss came with an unfortunate opening-attack critical miss off that first click against a Thanos-Gamora pairing.

yeah I wouldnt be able to use warbound with him, has anyone had much success using his capture ability? it seems thats where most of his cost comes from.
To use it do you just hit an opponent who is adjacent to you (shouldnt be hard with PC and capture on same click) then go back to your starting area and release? can your opponent disrupt it by knocking you off your capture click or anything else once you have their figure captured?
I'm pretty sure once capture is off the dial the captured piece is placed in an adjacent square, not sure who chooses the square. He's a tricky piece to use, maybe use some of the guardians from HoT, StarLord, Phyla Vell, Rocket Racoon

To free a captive the opponent must use a power action to attack Marvel (the Capturer) and successfully hit. No damage is dealt with this attack. Reduce the Capturer's defense by -1 for each captive it is holding when the attack is made. The captured figure is placed adjacent to Marvel with one action token on it. It may be given an action the same turn it is freed but pushing damage will occur (if appropriate).
