There are a few characters with SPs that say something like "X can use Pulse Wave as if X had a range of Y." And Y is not X's printed range.
Let's say Y=6. So when X uses that Pulse Wave SP, is everyone affected within a radius of 6 squares from X or 3?

Since "as if X had a range of Y" is considered a replacement, and halving range for Pulse Wave is a replacement, do you replace the replacement?

short answer is 3. Range is halved.

You could also pretend this X was Balder. It would make the example real easy then.

Yes, you give the character the range granted by the power, and then you halve it per the normal pulse wave rules.
