When a character is the target of Outwit or Perplex, its controlled rolls on six-sided die. On a result of 4-6, the target ignores that use of Outwit or Perplex.
A thrust of the sword and the klunk of a tankard signal the end of battle. However it is not without casualties as Sif picks up the mighty Hogun and his wounded body.

Normally, I have no qualms losing to a good team like yours sir. But to have a great opportunity for a win spoiled by a crapshoot BFC is quite disappointing.
Those dice, oh those dice. The most important things in Heroclix:
1. dice
2. the bfc (that is, a particular set of bfcs that are either horrible for you, or your opponent)
3. the map (same as bfcs)
4. and finally, strategy, which means:
5. your ability with your team
6. your opponent's ability with their team
I've never been happier with Heroclix than when they removed BFCs from Modern Age play.

Good luck to you in future rounds!
I can understand that frustration.
Although, keep in mind that we both missed a single use of Outwit. For the most part you failed to perplex in instances that didn't seem to matter too much. You had a 13 attack, after all.
But if he was perpplexing damage it would have mattered as Sif and Fandral might have deid quicker allowing for him to concentrate on Volstagg or run away

It would have helped against Hogun only, actually. I planned on Sif getting hit with Perplex and her attack would have been 1 better for it. Fandral would have gotten to Outwit again without pushing, had he been able to perplex.
Not saying it didn't hurt him. It did. Just saying that the perplex use was not as big as my Outwit hitting all but one time.

Each time your Outwit hit, and my perplex missed it was huge. How about this for a flip? When you phased Sif and Fandral over and based Magog. What happens if your Outwit on my Exploit fails, and I am able to perplex his damage up 1? One shot KO on Sif. In fact, Magog was able to one shot KO any member of your team except Volstagg with that one Perplex and his Exploit Weakness.
Heck, even after your outwit was successful, I was actually going to perplex Magog's damage DOWN in order to leave Sif on a less dangerous click, but even that didn't work.
The one time your Outwit failed, was the one time it was more a matter of convenience rather than necessity.
So this BFC needs to be burned in flames. It's the 2nd time I've ever had it and the 2nd time it has completely ruined what was otherwise a superior position.

I don't understand why we do random BFCs and maps for HCFL, personally. What's the point? it either doesn't matter or it really favors/hampers one team.
I think we should roll for map choice as per the standard rules, but maybe give the home team a bonus to map roll. Also, maybe let the home team pick a BFC but they have to pick it BEFORE map choice and before they see their opponents' figs.
Could be cool because, like in many real sports, winning an away game would be HUGE.

The BFC is meant to represent weather in a real sports (football) event. The home team doesn't typically pick the weather.
The reason I say the BFC didn't effect it too much is that without the BFC I was guaranteed to outwit you. At least with it I had a chance to fail.
Of course, had you moved Deadpool over you could have blocked LOS from Fandral to Magog but the damage had been fairly done by that point.
Also, when I failed to use Outwit, it would have shut down your Imperv and you would have taken 3 clicks. Instead you took 1 and I had to risk you avoiding even that. That was pretty big.
Well, we really can't discuss the game without the BFC and what would have happened, because the turns would have been done much differently. The initial setup would have had Magog covered by both Kang and Deadpool, making Outwit impossible.
Either way, the setup as it happened was a gamble that White Noise would affect you more than it did me. It didn't, by a long shot.
However, dwelling on it any longer is really pointless and really doesn't help the frustration I feel. Especially on top of the whole Deadpool and Bullseye fiasco at the end of the season. Just disappointments piled on top of one another. Nobodies fault mostly, just stuff happens. This game just typified the luck that I've had this whole season which is basically none. I guess I'll have to clutch to my FLE team's hopes and dreams even tighter now!
