I know it was errata'd to include Ragnarok Surtur, but does Fire Demons power apply to Son of Surtur?


i came up with this question when I realized that 4 Fire Demon and Son of Surtur is a 200 point team..

No, the errata just says "MINION: MARCH TO RAGNAROK!: When a friendly character named Surtur or Ragnarok Surtur is within 8 squares, Fire Demon can use Charge and modifies its attack value by +1"

Nothing about "Son of".

Sad day.. That was gonna be a fun 200 point team. I think in a friendly game I'll try this out, with the minion power working anyway, but man, I was hopin to use it in the next low point tourney I played in

Your Judge has the final say. So while it is not strictly speaking 'legal' your Judge has the final word (I'd let you have it ).

I do have a pretty chill Judge, so he may let me. I was just checking so I wouldnt have to ask him.. but now I guess I will.

our judge has given us Theme team for abstract themes that arent keyword related (a friend ran an all homosexuals team. got theme team bonuses and everything O.o yay for awkward valentines day stuff) do you do that type of stuff? if not, you should try it out! makes for some really fun tourneys

No, I am not a judge. Well, not an 'official' one anyway. Though I do try to keep up on all the rules of the game. I don't play in many tournaments these days ----> 4 of the 5 venues around here that used to have tournaments either closed up, or just stopped having them The one that does still have them, has them Saturday mornings and that's family time, so it's a no go.

But for our home games, I am the 'Judge' and we are pretty lax about keywords or granting the theme team bonus. All figures from the same set? Sounds like a theme to me. All DC 'bad guys'? Good to go. My buddy ran a 'Deathstroke and his Harem' team one time. Theme team it is etc etc.

Ah, that really sucks to hear. all the venues closing down like that.. You should just find a place and start the tourneys! heh, lotsa work tho...

well teams build in a way like all omosexuals or any other "different way of keywording is fun" i had for example a team with the hulk, rhino and solomon grundy (the stupids team) then there are the psychos (bullseye joker, mad thinker) the all blacks (nick fury ultimates, gcpd, bishop) the little green man (everyone with green skin) you have no idea how many teams you can think in this way. like the ritch team (nighthawk archangel, tony stark) the blondes.. and we might go on forever
