I just acquired these and noticed that some have point costs associated with them?

So does the owner of the objects add these to his or her buld total when making a team?

And then, as per the rules...anyone gets to use them...?

yes, and yes,....

but the owner should place lanterns in an area where they would get the most benefit. so per new rules you bring in 3 objects one light one heavy and one anything most if not all lanterns are light. if you bring in two (in a 300 point game) your figures / feats have to come up to 290

Also remember that if an object with a point value is destroyed victory points for it get rewarded.

To follow up on this question: If I take out all of my opponent's figures and they have a Green Lantern object (5 points) still on the map, would I get those points, or not?

Rulebook states:

If there is no team left, is the object removed from the game before scoring?

No. Anything left on the map is still on the map. In this respect, it is no different than time being called and you still have half your team on the map: you only count what was actually scored.

Gotcha. Gotta make sure I destroy that lantern before finishing off my opponent's team next time!

hi, I'm in the middle of a game. The White lantern special object says:
Characters within 4 squares that can use support or regen can't have those powers or special powers that allow their use, countered.

Does this mean that a guy with a special power like Adam Warlock's which allows the use Leadership, perplex and support, can't have his special power outwitted, or just the support can't be outwitted.

Him is a special power that allows Adam Warlock to use (among other things) Support. Him can't be countered if Adam Warlock is within 4 squares of the White Lantern.
