Psylockeslover stated this under actions able to be taken in one's turn:
Actions:
There are 5 differant types of actions now instead of 3 in the original rules. They are:
Free actions: Free actions are provided by certain powers and do not count towards your allotment of actions for that turn, and they do not, in themselves, give figs action tokens.
Free Move Actions (Avengers, Brotherhood, JLA, and Top Cow team abilities are not Free Actions.
Move actions: Same as before. Simply move a figure.
Close combat/Ranged combat actions: No change from the original rules.
Power actions: Some powers require the use of power actions. These do count towards your action total.
My question is this. What out of these actions adds up to your action total for your turn? Like say I'm playing a 300 point game and I'm allowed 3 actions a turn. Free actions you get a counter for but you don't lose one of your actions for the turn. Move actions you get a counter for as usual. Close combat/ranged combat you get an action counter for and they cost an action for the turn. But my real question comes up with power actions. How many of these can you take a turn? Do they in any way effect your allowed action total for a round???
Free actions don't take from your total, nor do they assign tokens. Everything else does require a token, and does require an action from your total.
Running Shot and Charge are examples of power actions. So is HSS's close-combat-pummel. They're actions, which is why they're in the list with those other types.
RadicalX is correct. "Free action" is a specific term and game concept; when it is being used or referenced, it will be stated. The non-allotted move actions of Top Cow, JLA, Avengers and Brotherhood are not free actions.
hmm, I'm not sure my meaning came across, so I'll restate :-)
Your first post said that everything either doesn't give a token and doesn't take away one of your actions, or does give a token and does take one of your actions.
I was trying to point out that's not free for free moves, but apparently the humor failed :-)
