I have a question about pushing with the Guardian of Fear. With his Quintessence team ability, he avoids pushing damage when given a second action token, but when he has two action tokens, does he avoid pushing damage when given an action? His rules state that he doesn't receive damage because of his team ability, but I've been told that with newer rules are in play, he has to take a click of damage when given that action. Could somebody clarify this for me please?
You are allowed to use his rule and not take pushing damage.
From the Players Guide:

When a special character‘s printed rules indicate that they
have a way to be given a non-free action every turn without
taking damage, these rules may be used instead of the
Colossal Stamina ability.
The one thing I could see coming up as a problem is the Colossal Stamina rule wording.
"When this character has two action tokens, it can be given a non-free action. If you do, after acions resolve deal it 1 unavoidable damage and do not clear action tokens from it at the end of the turn."
It doesn't state deal it 1 unavoidable PUSHING damage, just 1 unavoidable damage. Quintessence states the character does not take pushing damage.

The Anti-Monitor's player can push him on any number of succissive turns, even if he already has two action tokens on him; the Quintessence team ability proects him from pushing damage that would normally be taken for doing so.
So I'm guessing since his rules state specifically he avoids taking pushing damage, I can ignore the Colossal Stamina ruling and avoid the damage, since the rules make it clear his team ability protects him. I'm pretty sure this is the exact reason why that ruling is in the player's guide in the first place. Because of this guy.

I don't think so. The Colossal Stamina is not pushing damage. So, it would look like this:
First turn - action and token.
Second turn - action and token. Because you have two tokens, apply pushing damage. BUT Quintescence ignores pushing damage, so no click is applied.
Turn 3 - Give an action. Cannot add token, so you must apply colossal stamina effects which state that you will incur one unavoidable damage. Click the colossal for one damage as this is not pushing.
But now after seeing that player guide ruling, I can ignore Colossal Stamina, and go by his card, correct? I think the player guide makes that pretty clear, and I can't think of any other colossal this would apply to besides this one.

Correct.

Actually, it applies to pretty much all the old ones except the Sentinels and Sinestro. Almost all the older colossals had some special way to keep pushing and ignore the damage described in their rules. This PG entry is for all of those characters.

Turn 3 - he has his own special rule that states:
The Anti-Monitor's player can push him on any number of successive turns, even if he already has two action tokens on him; the Quintessence team ability protects him from pushing damage that would normally be taken for doing so.
So, he can use this rule to take an action on the third turn, instead of using Colossal stamina. Using this rule results in no damage.
