Sentinel and Sinestro having the same rules both have written that they can only be givin, for example;one action no matter how many points the character. There has been debate on whether this means that on a 500 point team you only get 4 moves a turn,or if it is intended to merely reiterate the basic rule of point values?
If you're running a 500 point game (regardless of having a big fig on it or it's point value) you get 5 actions per turn. I think that's what you're asking but if I'm way off, let me know.

No no no. In a match of any point value, Sentinel or Sinestro can only make one action per turn. That takes up one of your actions for the turn. If there are other characters to take the rest of those actions, then they may move as well. If Sentinel or Sinestro don't take an action, then that action is free to be used by any of the other characters. So in a 500 point match, if you don't use the big fig on any given turn, you still have 5 actions left.
Basically this rule is in place in the event someone is running a 200 point team with only a 200 pt Sentinel/Sinestro. The big guy still only gets to have one action even if its the only fig in your 200 pt force.

Technically that's incorrect. This is the beauty of big figs: Sentinel and Sinestro can be given two attack actions in one action. These attacks are different than those characters who have multiple attacks, and different than the Flurry ability, because these attacks can be close-combat or ranged, and require two separate dice rolls (that is, provided the big fig hasn't captured another character). Essentially, Sentinel makes two attacks in one turn. This makes him a bit more useful.
Technically, though, you are correct. This double action still only counts for ONE of the allotted actions per turn, thus staying true to the rule that big figs can only be given one action per turn, regardless of match size.
