Let's assume you're using 2 Kal's and they are the only two figures on your team. "Kal" would be the only character, would they each get the +1 increase to combat values?

Might be a stupid question but it confused me.
The "Kal" in the power description refers to the character possessing the power. If you have two Kals on your team and Kal #1 currently has this power showing on his dial, yes, they are both named Kal, but Kal #1 is not the only character on your force.
If you want to use this power, the character possessing the power needs to be your only character.
A KO'd figure, baring some special game text, is immediately considered "not part of the game". If it's not part of the game, it is certainly not part of your force.
