Can prof X make a ranged combat attack through another character to an opposing character, if the opposing character is adjacent to the median character? or would it be a close combat attack?
I have heard it is ranged combat bc x is so far away just going through someone else, and I have heard that bc the person he is going through is adjacent to the enemy, it is close combat
Prof X is making the attack. it's just from a different position. so the attack would be a ranged attack. remember the power also states that you must use powers.

IN CONTACT WITH CEREBRO: If Professor X is in your starting area, he can draw lines of fire and count Range for his Speed, Attack, and Damage powers from the square of any friendly character with whom he shares a keyword.
Also, be sure to check the Final Word for questions..

(Damage) I've Learned Your Secrets: Professor X can use Outwit. Once per turn, when he uses Outwit to counter a standard power, he may immediately use Outwit again, but only to counter a power of the same color.
(Special) In Contact with Cerebro: If Professor X is in your starting area, he can draw lines of fire and count Range for his Speed, Attack, and Damage powers from the square of any friendly character with whom he shares a keyword.
Remember Professor X is simply using a power from that square and since Professor X is NOT ADJACENT TO AN OPPOSING CHARACTOR when using that power it doesn't matter that the "distribution nod" (friendly charactor) is adjacent to an opposing charactor.
