Which answers my next question. Sorry, didn't have my gauntlet handy to see if it was silvered or not.
But, back to the meat of it, if asked, I'd prolly agree with yes, you can play the Gauntlet and a Soul Gem'd Inbetweener. The trait says that it doesn't count towards your objects, so it's more of a feat you attach to your base than an actual object.
Except it's not a feat, it's a SO as defined by the rules. 'This object does not count toward your force' (ala Captain Americas Shield and Scorpios Key), and 'This object does not count toward your object total' are not the same thing.
Also, for anyone that might try to argue that it is not a part of your force during force construction because it doesn't specifically say that it is, then I'd like to point out that no SO say that.
Gamma Bomb
Immobile. The Gamma Bomb can't be destroyed and begins on the green starting line. At the beginning of each player's turn, if it's not disarmed, click the dial once to the right. Once per game per character, a character occupying this square can be given a free action to roll a d6. On a result of 4 or 5, click the dial 4 clicks to the left (12 is the maximum), and on a result of 6, disarm it. When the red line is crossed, deal 3 damage to each character and destroy each object, wall, and square of blocking terrain within 8 squares and then remove this object from the map.
BLACK LANTERN
Light: Continual. During your turn, whenever an opposing
character within 4 squares of this object is KOd, you may heal 1
damage on a single friendly character within 4 squares of this
object.
Availability: The Brave and the Bold S008
BLUE LANTERN
Cost: 5
Light: Continual. Characters within 4 squares of this object that can
use Barrier or Telekinesis modify their range values by +2 and can
use Telekinesis for 10 squares instead of 8 (for all limitations of
Telekinesis) if they can already use Telekinesis.
Availability: The Brave and the Bold S005
BOOKCASE†
Light: Continual. Increase the attacker’s attack value by 1 when
used in an attack.
Availability: HeroClix Indoor Adventure Kit
BROKEN DRONE†
Light: Continual. While a character is holding this object, you may
choose to either (1) use this object normally in an attack, or (2) give
this character a ranged combat action (treating the character’s
range value as 4) and make a ranged combat attack against a single
target opposing character. An attack using option 2 deals 1 damage
but does not destroy this object.
Availability: Danger Room Starter Game
BUCKET OF WATER
Light: When not held, a square containing this object is not
considered hindering terrain because of this object, it is considered
water terrain instead.
Availability: DC 75 S101
COM DISH†
Heavy: Continual. When this object is used in an attack, modify the
attacker’s damage value by +1 for the attack.
Availability: Legion of Super Heroes Starter Game
COMPUTER†
Heavy: Continual. Increases the attacker’s attack value by 1 when
used in an attack.
Availability: HeroClix Indoor Adventure Kit
CRATE†
Light: Continual. A character may throw this object 10 squares.
Availability: HeroClix Indoor Outdoor Adventure Kit
CRIMSON GEM OF CYTTORAK
Cost: 5
Immobile: This object can’t be destroyed. Once per game per
character, give a character occupying this square a power action
and roll a d6 that can’t be rerolled. On a roll of 5 or 6, place this
object on that character’s card. Modify that character’s damage
value by +1 and that character can use Charge, Super Strength, and
Toughness. (Characters can’t use more than one damage reduction
power.) When that character is defeated, place this object in the
square they last occupied. At the end of the game, if an opponent’s
character has this object on their card or all of your characters
have been defeated, your opponent scores this object.
etc etc etc.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
I'd say that yes, the Gem is indeed part of your force, even when attached to the In-Betweener at the beginning of the game. The way it is added to your force is irrelevant. If it is added to your force, then according to the rules of the Gauntlet, it is illegal.
Ok, I can see that line of reasoning. That's why I asked. And because the wording is different between Cap/Scorpio and In-B, I distinguished between that. I would accept it being ruled that way, as it can be interpreted that way.
I am of the mindset that because it is independent from your object pool, attached to the base, and never treated in any way as a SO that it is a seperate entity in the case of the In-B. The wording of the powers does not (to me) prohibit it clearly, is all.
As long as Scorpio can wield the IG, I am happy. If In-B can use his own Sould Gem as well in their Zodiac kw matches I'll be even happier.

No SO says that because they didn't need to. Previously, there was no way to get an SO onto your force without putting it on your force in the place of a standard object. Captain America and Scorpio changed that. In-Betweener followed them.
Old SOs have a way to be put on your force. These 3 (so far) SOs have a different, entirely seperate way to make it onto the map, while bypassing your standard object pool and force build.

You missed my point. The community does not decide the official status of the object. Your venue can do whatever it pleases which is completely independent of what is discussed here.
If I was a player at your venue I would be asking how they are going to rule the Infinity Gauntlet, which should tell you whether or not you could face someone with 2.
I am always in constant contact with my judge on things that have a hazy ruling so I know what to expect and what is expected of me. Once there is an official ruling, I let my judge know if he doesn't know already. I guess it helps that we are friends, but I would think you could still inquire about how things will be ruled that have not gotten an official ruling yet.

Unfortunately, there's nothing in the rules that states having a silver background on a card designates something as unique. The only indicator of uniqueness in the rules is a silver (or gold/bronze) ring on the base, which the Gauntlet doesn't have.
Check the rule book page 3, Figure 3 it tells you what the background means.
P.S. as I said on the other thread it fits the format of an Event Dial.

Since all the gems do is look pretty on the base and provide a visual cue for which gems you are using, it is really easy to use the Guantlet in a home game with friends. My friends and I are going to do exactly that once we finally get together again.

Oh yes, yes.
I meant in an official tournament, so the "status" of the Gauntlet isn't super important right this moment.
But hopefully there will be an official announcement on what type of game piece the Gauntlet actually is.

Here's a great question can Kitty Pryde REMOVE THE GAUNTLET FROM THE GAME?
Even if it is ruled to be an object, Kitty Pride would have no effect on the Gauntlet. It is not on the map and it is not being held by a character. Just like Kitty Pride can't do anything to Mjolnir, Crimson Gem, or Scorpio Key (any others I am forgetting) once a character successfully rolls for them.
None of those objects are on the map at that point, nor are they being held by a character.
