I don't have a rule book, are transporter's still considered to be using HSS with their -2 attack exception?
If they use it, do they halve their range value as well?
If not, can they use PsyBlast when they move and attack?
I know some of these are stupid questions, but please help me out. I play with a lot of new players and the rules have changed drastically since I quit playing a while ago.
The transporter symbols grant the Carry ability and the Move and Attack ability, in addition to maybe Swim or Flight, as appropriate.
Move and attack reads:
Move and Attack
This character can use Hypersonic Speed if it is not adjacent to an opposing character when given the power action, but its attack value is modified by -2.
There are two differences here. First, the attack value is reduced. Second, the character cannot use Hypersonic Speed if it is adjacent to an opposing character at the start of its action.
Move and Attack Ability allows a character to use Hypersonic Speed if they are not adjacent to an opposing character.
When the character uses hypersonic speed, they modify their attack value -2 for the duration of the attack and they do not halve their range value.
In the new PAC coming out with the Avengers Movie sets, I believe the move and attack ability will remove the mention about range value so eventually it will be halved.
Hypersonic Speed grants the use of a close combat attack or ranged combat attack during movement. Psychic Blast activates off of a ranged combat action and thus is not compatible with Hypersonic Speed or Move and Attack ability.
Darn, ninja'd again.
Eh . . .
