Hi everyone, i was wondering if i could get an official ruling if pulse wave would cancel out any of the bonuses that the infinity gauntlet would give you. For example when someone gains "Ultimate Godhood Attained" and they get all there combat values +2, would someone pulsewaving them cancel out the +2 they would recieve? Thanks for your help.
Good Morning. The wording of Pulse Wave is that is "ignores all game effects", so yes, it would ignore the effects of the Gauntlet.
Quote
Pulse Wave - "...game effects possessed or used by other characters with a line of fire drawn to them are ignored until the action has been resolved..."
I'm not so sure about that. You're taking that quote out of context.

Pulse Wave
Give this character a ranged combat action; halve its range value
until the action has been resolved. Draw lines of fire to all
characters within range in every direction; these lines of fire are
only blocked by walls, blocking and elevated terrain. All game
effects possessed or used by other characters with a line of fire
drawn to them are ignored until the action has been resolved. At
least one opposing character must have a line of fire drawn to it to
activate this power. If ignoring a game effect would cause a
character with a line of fire drawn to it to no longer have a line of
fire drawn to it, then it is not ignored. If lines of fire can be drawn
to two or more characters, this character's damage value becomes
1 and is locked. Make a single ranged combat attack (even if this
character is adjacent to an opposing character) and compare the
attack total to the defense value of all other characters with a line
of fire drawn to it; each character hit is dealt damage.
The question is, is that a game effect used or possessed by the character? While Harpua's answer in this thread is a bit cryptic I think we can take it to mean that the character isn't using or possessing a game effect, rather something else is granting him that effect. Wouldn't the same apply to the Guantlet in this case?

No.
In the case of the IG, the character with the IG is the one using the powers from the IG. They would be ignored.
In the case of Abin Sur, Abin Sur is the one using the effect.
I'm not so sure about that. You're taking that quote out of context.

That's like saying characters are not using Feats, but they are. The Gauntlet is attached to the character and they are using it. Just like Relics and Feats.

Thank You everyone who replied to the thread so far, thats how i read the rulings and judged it that way too. I just wanted to make sure so everyone that was involved in the match would be happy

I just want to point out that the text of the Gauntlet itself makes it clear that the character isusing the effects it provides:
Quote
Using Effects - When a Gem, a standard power or a special power is revealed on the dial, assigned character can use the effects associated with that if they can't already. You may only use the Gem effects if that Gem is attached.
So those effects will be ignored by using pulse wave.
