Say you but together a DC Team of a bunch of pretty good characters for a 300-Point Game. Your total comes out to 285. What do you do?
Do you re-construct the team to something more point-efficient? Do you upgrade characters? What if you can't? Or don't want to? Do you add the Gotham Cop?
The point is, I hardly ever use flunkies. (Exceptions being cheap taxis, Superman Enemies, and Medics) How many of you actually throw in Thugs, Agents, and Soldiers to even out the numbers?
Lex,
Depending on the team I'm trying to build, I usually upgrade the existing characters. If I have excess points left over after upgrades, then I throw in the thugs and such. Sometimes those little guys can come in handy tying up your opponent's hard hitters while your own hard hitters get into position.
i'll always just use the filler figures. using one action to move a low cost fig next to an opponent's big cost fig is absolutely worth it. you bet. one action compared to the two or sometimes three it'd cost my opponent to waste has won me many a game...
bran's good for you. eat more bran. it'll keep you regular.
V Gotham City Police is always welcome on my teams. Officer Bob gives a very good return for the investment. 2 clicks, 6 range. Decent attack. All for cheap. And he isnt afraid to try to handcuff Doomsday even though he knows what is about to happen........
I am one that like to get my team to the exact stipulated amount. So if we're playing 300 points, then my team will be 300 points (or as close as possible. The reason being is, that if you are behind, when you start the game, then you have already started the game in a compromising position; and are forced to come after your opponent to make up for the points you are under.
Since I build my team from the inside out (start with strategy/focal point), and then add support, I sometimes come down to having those extra points.
At this point, I will always try to upgrade my figs, then I will change raritites. If that doesn't work, then I will fit in one of the generics.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
If you are happy with any team you made then dont use a filler figure, remember most people build as close to a 300 point team as possible, if the game ends in a no lose on either side, you are more likly to be declared the winner because of the point difference. Besides that anyone that faces you will lose out on the points, helping your standings.
Why? They are like mobile blocking terrain. I really like using them with OWAW superman. They buy time for him to rest. They also act as though they had the incapacitate power.
Nothingmore annoying than having Ma Kent base your heavy hitter and you have to burn up an action to waste her. All for a lousy 2 points. Whoop Dee Do!
