Ah, please forgive me, for I simply assumed Sutkus knew what he was talking about, and, get real, it would hardly be a stretch of the imagination to assume that this wasn't covered anywhere in the rules.
Point in Fact: Can you Learn to read? I cop to jumping the gun re: the gauntlet, etc. That's my bad. I'm not so quick, however, to capitulate on the action token situation, and here's why:
Action Tokens are not mentioned in the Final Word or your quote from the PG.
"long-lasting game effects"
"...affected by a power or ability..."
"....more or less permanent effect..."
These do not cover Action Tokens.

I think action tokens could be described as "long-lasting game effects". There was also little need to mention them when that post was written as all Alter Ego powers at the time mentioned action tokens specifically.

One could debate the "long-lasting" nature of action tokens.
Also, I just noticed, but the Adam Warlock/Magus aren't even Alter Ego characters.
So, in the first place, the "long-lasting-ness" of action tokens is...questionable, depending on one's perspective (I'm not arguing w/you, simply pointing that out), and in the second-place, anyone looking up information for these characters is unlikely to discover that gem in the Final Word, since on the surface it doesn't pertain to these two characters since they are not Alter Ego characters.
Another "swap" character for your consideration:
WEAPON SWAP: PUNISHER: Give Punisher a ranged combat action. After that action resolves, replace him with any character with this trait but a different collector's number on the same click number. Existing action tokens and action tokens for that action are applied to the replacement.
A player might very easily, indeed, draw the connection that since Magus/Warlock do not have this bolded text then they do not function in the same manner (the action tokens don't transfer), OP's case in point.
So, while I think the information is kinda there to be found, I also think that it could be clarified a bit.

This is probably the best post I've ever seen you make. Your not being argumentative or snarky and you make your point. Thank you.
As for what your saying I actually agree with you (why are me feet getting cold?). I feel as if that Final Word should be expanded to all instances where one character is replaced with another character.
This is also something that should be considered for next round of revisions to the Player's Guide/Rule Book.

why would all other replace figures have the text saying to keep tokens?
Since this one did not have that text I thought it was different.
They are definently not Alter-egos. Magus and Adam are something unique.
So bottom line should we expect an errata and the rule is they get the tokens or as is now they don't get the tokens and can act OR do they not get the tokens but NOT act?
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

Plenty of Special powers contain redundant text, though it is not alway easy to know what is redundant.

They are the same character. If Magus takes a non-free action and is replaced by Adam Warlock, Adam cannot then take a non-free action.
YOU SHALL NOT HARM MY MASTER: Whenever Galactus takes damage, place a Revenge token on this card. At the beginning of your turn, remove all Revenge tokens and give your Herald that many actions as free actions this turn.
So you cant do RS twice with these free actions.
However can you RS as a free action and then RS as normal tokenable action?
