:knockedou I do think he is a beast. However he can still be beaten down pretty well in a 300pt game consisting of this set. Their are enough beatsticks out there to do some heavy D to him especially if he misses or they make a defense roll. I found that out the hard way:} A lot of these characters can move across and attack across the board very easily. Once again, he is pretty tasty:}
The only argument i can make that hasn't already been beaten to death is this: having the arguably best piece in the game be the most common is GREAT FOR NEWCOMERS. If i've never played HC before, bought one booster and melted faces with this bad boy, i'd be that much more likely to play again!
No Justice League of America TA? That's a travesty. I really don't get that. Even though we don't see them in All-Star Superman, There is a Bizarro JLA so wouldn't it be safe to assume there would be a real League in that All-Star universe? That means that the closest USABLE Supes with any Justice league keywords is from the JL set, which is retired. Thanks, Wizkids. Yes i am purposely omitting the garbage supes from the DC75 set.
This guy is brutal, and the point value speaks it. The sculpt is also, well, SOMETHING, which is always a plus.

The same society that tells people to grow up is the same society that is terrified of words.
For the record, i don't ever plan on using this guy. I don't typically enjoy relying on pieces that make me feel like i'm clubbing a baby seal. But one last comparison to DC 75 Supes, if i wanted a character with charge, super strength, 10 attack and 17 defense, i'd pick Lois Lane, Super Woman for half the points. And it looks like i'm getting a good Supes with JL keywords with the Fast Forces set.
The version that is closest to Silver Age Superman in Heroclix as of this point in time. The full 300 point version of Big Blue can actually lay the claim as being a one man army. Although vulnerable to Outwit unlike most of those in this point range who have Power Cosmic/Quintessence, his own Outwit (which is very character accurate for someone who regularly beats his foes with a combination of brains and brawn) gives a way to counter that vulnerability and the Indomitable lets him maximize his action per turn. Although range is sub-par to previous Supermen who set the bar, this version makes up for it for solid and consistent numbers and nearly a full dial of move and attack. The lack of certain keywords are understandable due to storyline restrictions from the All Star series, but there's no doubt this will be the benchmark by which all future Supermen (and tentpoles, as a whole) will be measured.
It doesn't get any easier to play than this. Great figure if a challenge frightens you. Perfect for children. This figure is training wheels for Heroclix.
I like this version of superman. I do not like all the crying and whining that comes after you have beaten your opponent with him. It's even worse when you beat them and they are also using the same piece and start to cry and whine about how broken the figure is.
I'm glad they finally made a Superman-with-a-brain figure. (The character is not always dumb; it depends on the era/writer.) He's ridiculously powerful, sure, but that's totally appropriate. And for what it's worth, I don't think he's as "cheap" or "broken" as Vet Icons Superman was, back in the days when Hypersonic Speed allowed full-range attacks and the soaring mechanic enabled Supes to escape retaliation. This version of Superman seems much less obnoxious to me, due to his lower range and speed, and the weak-sauce clicks at the end. Plus he can be Outwitted easily. So he's great, and really dominant, but hardly unstoppable.
Please forgive me - I haven't been into Clix in a while and I'm getting caught up, and I haven't read a comic in over 2 years - I like this Superman's dial alot... but why does he have Support and Regen? I can understand the Psy blast being used to just show that he can get through defenses... but I don't understand the Regen and Support really.
